It was one game only to give Marvel a better chance at winning. Better as in 1 out of 25, as opposed to 0 out of infinity.
Plus, David Leader was in the 10K top 24 and top 8 that day. He had already drafted twice and played 3 games that day, and could have played 9 more games.
But mostly it was because HaT needs a miracle to win 2 out of 3 against GLEE.
*nod* it was made to give Adam more of a chance. From his playtesting, he had done over 50 games; and while he had won some games, had never sucessfully pulled off two in a row. It gave some drawing chance, and added a little excitement to the game.
Adding more was the fact that I won the die roll and chose the incorrect initive. Horavth, Antonio, and several others apparently had done some testing; and the only chance Horvath really had was if he ended up with the odd inititives. Though I had played a 20-game streak, I hadn't lost a game; so had simply defaulted to the standard initive wanted by that deck.
That gave him an out. The fact that I didn't play Dr. Light until turn 5 made it more of a game still. But in the end I was running a deck that was designed to beat a solely-focused weenie metagame, and he was built to beat a diverse metagame.
good job man its not like we didnt know you were going to win only if MKKO had won that modern age. Even though dcma has no mans so i guess it wouldn't have mattered
Everybody knew GLEE was gonna crush HAT, I don't know about everywhere else but around here we had a mad rush to win a DCMA PCQ because it was basically double prize money
