Summer before last, I was lucky enough to be hanging out in a comic book store when the first shipments of Origins came in. I started buying cards at a much greater rate than I could really afford to, and soon found myself deeply entrenched in the VS. community in Bellevue, Nebraska.
Now just starting out, I had somewhere between 10 and 20 decks put together at all times. Some where definitely better than others, but they were all so much fun to play at the beginning.
The real reason for this thread is that today I started feeling very nostalgic for a particular deck that has since gone the way of the dodo. It was a ridiculously convoluted FF/Doom/Skrull concoction that was designed to abuse cosmic radiation and Team Tactics. It was sooooo silly, and went off maybe 3 out of 5 games.
It's since been cannabilized for playtest versions of CE and EMS, but every so often I get the urge to tear everything else apart to put it back together.
So, my question is this: Does anyone else have a former pet deck that was sacrificed to the competition gods, that still constantly calls to them from beyond the cardboard grave? :surprised
Originally posted by TOGORIAN25 i deffinantly do. its m unaffiliated deck, i love the thing, but is was in peaces till just recently, yeah JLA set and all its U/A goodness.
I hear that man.
I need to put in a little deck building to get the old Mojo workin' myself. ;)
I actually built a Negative Zone deck once, playing Marvel Knights turns 1-5 and using Midnite Sons to go through LoA for The Demon's Head. It actually worked pretty well, and I might rebuild it some day, but I'll need one specific kind of card to make it work.
