Let's say I play Call down the Lightning.
As the additional cost to play I replace a reservist. Which means I take a reservist in my resource row and place him/her in the KO pile and the take the top card from my deck and place it in my resource row. (At least I think thats right)
If thats correct- my question is can I then use the card that was placed into my resource row for the attack.
I.E. == attack with Wonder man 12/12, play Call Down the Lightning- replace Rick Jones (Avenger) giving me +3/+3, to 15/15, the card I place in the resource row is Flying Kick can I flip Flying Kick to push me to 18/15 for this attack.
yes that is all perfectly legal. Both players must pass on an empty chain for the attack to conclude. What would happen is you place CDtL on the chain, pass, your opponent passes, chain clears, then you have priority again to play effects.
You can actually use that sooner than that. Let's say for the sake of argument, you have a few reservists in your resource row. You play a copy of CDtL from your hand. The reservist you replace becomes a second copy of CDtL. The cost of replacement is entirely concluded before the effect is put onto the chain. After you put an effect on the chain, you have the first available priority point to play other effects before that first effect can resolve. You could play the second CDtL before even passing priority over.
Now, is this normally the 'right' play to make? Probably not, since you'd prefer to have the surprise available if your opponent can potentially waste an effect to stop the first one. It is completely legal to do so, however, and there may be cards in the future that make a decision such as this the correct one to make. Actually, one case where this may be smart is if you face a deck that runs Hidden Surveilance but hasn't played a copy from his resource row yet.
