VSRealms Tournament Feature Match Semifinals (Techno vs. Shadowfreak9)
Techno vs. Shadowfreak9
Semifinal Match-up
(As a note, Mr. Holmes was unable to participate in the tournament, therefore the match-up between ihatepants and Mr. Holmes is not able to be featured.)
Game 1
Shadowfreak9 won the roll and chose to take evens. Both players shuffled up their decks and drew their opening hand which brought about a mulligan from both.
Turn 1
Techno recruited Salaak, Shadowfreak9 recruited Chomin. With a clear board, Techno swung in for 1, and Shadowfreak9 went ahead and forced the stun on Salaak with Chomin to trade stuns. Both player’s passed and it’s on to turn 2.
Techno (49) – Shadowfreak9 (48)
Turn 2
Shadowfreak9 recruited an Anti-Green Lantern. Techno flipped up Book of Oa before his recruit, to dig for 1, and discarded G’nort. He then recruited Kyle Rayner who searched out a Rain of Acorns, and also followed that up with a chopping block on Salaak. Kyle was protecting Salaak while Chomin protected the AGL. The Anti-Green Lantern swung at Salaak and was pumped up with a Trial by Fire. Techno chose to use the Ring has Chosen to dig out Dr. Light (3), discarding Oliver Queen. He then passes and chooses to let Salaak stun. Shadowfreak9 passes his attack and allows Kyle Rayner to swing direct for 2. Before recovery, Chomin stuns the AGL and both players move to turn 3.
(41) – (45)
Turn 3
Both players draw their cards and Techno Books for 2. He discards a Willworld and recruits Dr. Light to the right of Salaak. He then activates Dr. Light to bring out G’nort, and follows this up with a recruit of the Catcher’s Mitt. Shadowfreak9 recruits Slipstream into the hidden area (exhausting Kyle Rayner and G’Nort). Techno flips up Rain of Acorns and taps down Slipstream and the Anti-Green Lantern. Shadowfreak9 chooses to stun the AGL with Chomin to burn for 1, and it is promptly Chopping Blocked by Salaak.
(40) – (44)
Turn 4
Shadowfreak9 recruits Xallarap and flips up the Ring Has Chosen to search out an Anti-Green Lantern. He discards a Slipstream and recruits the AGL. Techno Books for 3 and discards a Dr. Light. He then flips up an Emerald Dawn KO’ing Kyle Rayner. On that chain, he also activates Dr. Light to bring Kyle back into play. From the search, Techno retrieves a Malvolio and a Lanterns in Love. Malvolio is protecting Dr. Light. Kyle Rayner is protecting Salaak, and to Salaak’s right, G’nort is standing alone. The first attack brought Xallarap down into Dr. Light who promptly stuns. The Anti-Green Lantern then swung at Salaak. Techno plays Lanterns in Love exhausting G’nort and Salaak to revive Dr. Light and his Catcher’s Mitt. Salaak then stuns. Shadowfreak9 then swung at G’nort with Slipstream and a Cosmic Conflict. G’nort stuns. Slipstream is readied by paying 3 endurance and swings at Kyle Rayner. Techno exhausts Malvolio and Kyle Rayner to revive G’nort in order to trade stuns. Chomin stuns Xallarap and both players pass.
(30) – (35)
In recovery, Slipstream and the AGL is KO’d from Shadowfreak9’s field leaving him with Chomin and Xallarap. Techno recovers G’nort and KO’s Kyle.
Turn 5
Techno returns Kyle Rayner to play by exhausting Dr. Light but fails to find a construct. He then Books for 4 and discards a Mogo. Katma-Tui is recruited. Shadowfreak9 recruits Fiero to hidden and passes. Kyle Rayner attacks for 3 and passes attacks to Shadowfreak9. Fiero exhausts for 6 endurance burn to Techno. Shadowfreak9 then passes. Techno exhausts Salaak, Katma Tui, G’nort, and Malvolio to gain 10 endurance. Chomin uses his ability to stun Xallarap before recovery.

Turn 6
After being flashed Sinestro: GLoK, Shadowfreak9 scoops game 1.
Game 2 Turn 1
Both players kept their opening hands, while Shadowfreak9 again chose evens. Techno brings out Salaak turn 1 mirroring his opening last game. Shadowfreak9 matches his game 1 play as well bringing down Chomin. Both players attack and pass.
(49) – (48)
Turn 2
Shadowfreak9 passes his second turn with no recruit. Kyle Rayner is recruited for Techno who searches out a Catcher’s Mitt. The Catcher’s Mitt is then recruited on Salaak. Salaak is formed in front of Kyle Rayner. Chomin attacks Salaak and powers up to ensure there was no stun back. Kyle Rayner is then able to swing direct for 2.
(48) – (46)
Turn 3
Techno sacrifices Kyle to Emerald Dawn searching out a Dr. Light (3). Dr. Light is then recruited and promptly bounces Kyle back into play allowing him to search out a Chopping Block. Shadowfreak9 flips up a Willworld and grabs one AGL (discarding one) while revealing a Bad Press that gets shuffled to the bottom of the deck. Slipstream is then recruited in the hidden area. Salaak and Rayner attack direct for 3. Slipstream attacks into Kyle Rayner and is moved to the visible area with a Cosmic Conflict. Kyle stuns and Slipstream readies by paying 3. Slipstream then attacks into Salaak and passes. Chomin attacks into Dr. Light with the help of a Mega-Blast.
(40) – (39)
In recovery, Salaak and Kyle Rayner are KO’d from Techno’s side.
Turn 4
Shadowfreak9 uses Willworld before his draw revealing an AGL and a Trial by Fire. He then discards one AGL to take the revealed AGL into his hand. Both players draw. Shadowfreak9 recruits Felix Faust. Dr. Light activates to bring back Kyle Rayner who searched out a Rain of Acorns. He then attempts to recruit a Chopping Block on Kyle Rayner who is Banished to the Anti-Matter Universe before the recruit resolves. Techno then recruits Oliver Queen – Emerald Archer and passes. Shadowfreak9 plays the Ring Has Chosen and discards the AGL he searched out from the plot twist. Felix Faust attacks into Oliver Queen. Before it was legal, Oliver exhausted to entangle (discarded Professor X-Mental Master) Slipstream. The attack was declared legal, and Oliver paid 2 to attempt to KO Chomin. Shadowfreak9 responded by stunning Slipstream with Chomin and passing. Chomin KO’s and Techno was burned for 3. Techno flips a Cover Fire and without any pumps, Shadowfreak9 allows his Faust to stun to grab 3 AGL’s from his KO’d pile. Shadowfreak9 attacks one of his AGL’s into Dr. Light and was met with a power-up. With the attack bouncing, Shadowfreak9 scoops game 2.

Wow those were both really great games but I don't see how AGL lost the battle of the little people to Rayner and the Gang...It just doesn't make sense but hey great job both of you....
