It is known that Dr Light has been changed to once per turn. Everyone knows that.
But what do you all think of how it will impact TDC Stall? Many of the decks original players will claim that Xavier's School is the sickest part of the deck, allowing two Dr Light activations per turn. Now that this is not an option, do you think TDC Stall is still a competitor?
I would say definetely so. Although it lost a really nifty trick, the deck is definetly more than simply a one-trick-pony, and there are far more reasons why the deck is great. But I could also argue that with High Voltage rampaging the environment, TDC Stall might not be the best idea. (I have not personally playested the TDC vs Voltage match, so maybe TDC somehow manages to beat Voltage? I would guess not)
What do yall think? Everyone is welcome to comment, but Im mainly looking to get some imput from people who have actually played the deck and know its in's and out's.
It's good, but I don't know that it's any better than the original x-stall. It seems that they both do about the same thing. Now, I of course have not built or played the donkey stall, so i probably shouldn't say anything, but with out the dr. light abuse, i'm not sure what makes it better than the original solitaire.
You use Puppet Master to exhaust someone, and then KO him to Ivy. Grab what location you need, and Doctor Light him back into play... next to Professor X so that he is now an X-Men.
And you wait.....
You have 2 exhausts at your disposal now, and if you can time them, one will be on a ready character before he can be equipped, so that limits an activation from them. Not a big deal really, but using Puppet master 3 times from turn 4 on is pretty damn good.
Not ot mention you are discarding to gain life, and using Puppet Master to bring in that same character you just discarded. The new 5 drop Talia makes this deck a BEAST. Now on turn 5, you are discarding a 2, and getting it recruited for free.
Discard PM, gain 2... he is recruited for free.
Use him.
KO him to Ivy, get a location.
Doc Light him back in.
Use him.
Xaviers school him.
Use him.
thats with him in hand, you can still get 3 uses of him while he isn;t on the field. The combos of using him to exhaust out a board are pretty insane. And you can use Extreme Maneuvers and Fastballs to make sure they aren;t bringing back much on each following turn. Fastball the guys with Flamethrowrs when you can, and Extreme Maneuver the larger drops.
I see the TDC variant of the stall growing into a real powerhouse for Golden.
