I freelance for them. Great staff over there at InQuest.

Yeah, I don't agree with some of thier Top Picks/prices and such but I always like the style of writing. I'll probably subscribe to Wizard and Inquest this month. I can't get enough Superhero Geek-talk.
So what were the original texts? Pretty cool cards. Seem pretty balanced, but good.
-Mike
Except that the Claire doesn't seem balanced; she has no drawback (besides having to stay visible). She has above average defense for the cost and auto-recovers herself. She even prevents you from losing. I'm thinking it was supposed to have a you lose the game if she's KO'd effect (like Ahmed).
Besides that, the cards seem like fine ideas. I would be interested to know what the original ideas were before they got changed. Plus I'd like to know how the Jessica Sanders was supposed to work. According to the site, you can't play it from your hand. How were you supposed to get it in play (Niki only puts it in your hand)?

Atk: 2
Def: 4
Team: 9th Wonders
Flight: No
Range: No
Keyword: Sigil 1 - Niki comes into play with 1 Sigil counter.
Activate - Remove a Sigil counter from Niki, and remove Niki from the game. Search your deck for a card named Jessica <> Vengeance , place it into your hand, and shuffle your deck. You may only use this power during the recovery phase.
Whenever Niki becomes powered up you may add a Sigil counter to Niki.
Whenever Niki becomes stunned remove all Sigil counters from Niki.
Claire Bennet <> Impervious Cheerleader
Cost 3
Atk: 3
Def: 8
Team: 9th Wonders

Range: No
Keyword: Sigil 5 - Claire comes into play with 5 Sigil counters.
Whenever Claire becomes stunned, you may remove a Sigil counter from Claire and recover Claire.
Whenever Claire becomes powered up you may add a Sigil counter to Claire.
Whenever Claire would become KO'd, remove all Sigil counters and recover Claire.
Claire cannot enter the hidden area.
If you control Claire with at least 1 Sigil counter during the recovery phase of turn 8, you win the game.
What I wouldn't give for an Essentials Heroes set. That Nikki art (from the comic I think, right?) is sooper joocy. While I have an illegal lust for Claire, Nikki/Jessica makes me all warm and squishy inside.
Here are the original cards:
Claire Bennet <> Impervious Cheerleader
Cost 3
Atk: 3
Def: 8

How about this:
Cost 3
Claire Bennett <> Impervious Cheerleader
9th Wonders
5/5
Whenever Claire Bennett becomes stunned, you may discard a 9th Wonders character card. If you do, recover her and put a +1/+1 counter on her.
You cannot lose the game.
When Claire Bennett is put into a KO pile from play, you lose the game.
I don't think Claire is overpowered at all... You can Finishing Move her version on the Wizard site and the original version Finishing Move removes all her counters and bouncing her with Death Trap, Removed From Continuity or Reign of Terror works just as well, too.
-Mike
EDIT: Though I did just realize that you play her on turn 8 and pretty much win. lol
