Ok, recently I was responding to a thread on this very board "JLA/Avengers" and I got a little carried away because I was having fun and I ended up making a whole f'ing decklist.
The odd thing was ... it ended up using Iron Man (a character I've actually never really seen in constructed play, even casually).
Not only did it use Iron Man, it used two versions of Iron Man! In fact, it ran Iron Man at 3 just for power-up reasons (and he had decent stats) since it was already running Iron Man at 6 and it had an Ally theme.
So this got me thinking ... if, by loose definition, you could argue that it was an "Iron Man" deck of sorts ...
... might it not be fun to put together a Captain America deck?
There's another thread on this board putting together a Thing deck , which is hilariously cool when you realize that it's actually kind of a Yancy Street deck, so let's try to put another character based deck together.
So, here's my challenge (with rep-prizes for all good responses, of course).
Who out there can come up with an idea for a Captain America deck?
Loosest definition of a Captain America deck I can think of:
At least 2 versions of Captain America in the deck.
At least 5 Captain Americas in the deck.
Captain America should be the primary drop at at least one drop-level (or on one turn if off-curve).
Captain America's presence in the deck should be justifiable (I.E., no just switching him into another Avengers deck if there's a better choice for the deck at that drop-level).
Captain America's name should be somehow relevant in the deck. For example, the deck should run Costume Change or Lost City or something else that will make Captain America's name relevant during game-play.
Preferably 2 or fewer teams (not including DAs), but I'll let that one slide.
Well all that I can think of currently are 3 versions of the man in question. The new 3 drop from MHG rewards you for having more than 2 affiliations, and the old 3 drop awards characters ajacent to him by letting them squad up with the Avengers. Maybe there shouldnt be a limit on team affiliations.

There really isn't. I just said "preferably" (and not counting DA's).
If you got a good idea, go with it regardless of anything I say.
Man, we already have the Cap getting lots of game play. Also your rules are very restricting. You basically said you have to power up or run a really bad tutor. Right now Captain has 3 versions, 2 3 Drops and a 6 Drop. Now the Skrull captain has no synergy with the other versions, he is not even avengers. So you can run skrull, splash in a single Cap as the 6 drop and call it a day. Of course for a real deck since Cap is a leader is Justice for All. Here is a deck list
2 Drop
4x Melissa Gold
4x Erik Josten
3 Drop
4x Captain America
2x Helmut Zemo
4 Drop
4x Iron Man
5 Drop
4x Hawkeye
6 Drop
4x Captain America
7 Drop
3x Beetle
8 Drop
1x Thor
Plot Twists
4x Justice for All
4x Repel Attack
4x Second Chance
4x Avenger's Assemble
4x Mobilize
4x Leadership Challenge
4x Cover Fire(Everyone but Erick josten and Helmut has range)
Locations
2x Stormfront 1
Basically a beat down Deck. Nice guys, good leader abilities, and Cap is the Main Character at two big points. I say it meets all the criteria except his name being important. But the fact he is a leader is shown by the Avenger's Assemble, Repel Attack, Leadership Challenge, and Justice for All. I hope that this counts for the criteria.
I think any Cap Deck should be based around leader, The problem is that the team-up based around that mechanic: justice for all, seems not very strong. There was this metagame artcle about such a deck too: http://www.metagame.com/vs.aspx?tabid=46&ArticleId=6346 but I do not consider it very playable.
So maybe it should be some other team with many leader characters + Avengers. Society has a nice tutor for it and some fine drops, but most of them wants to KO the characters that they lead. JLA has some nice high drops but that is pretty much it.
But than it hit me: Avengers/JLI. Not because of the leaders (even though it has a few) but because of the team attack theme of both teams. Will write up a list if I have more time but it would be Sue Dibney, Beast, all those do some cool stuff when team attacking low drops, which include 4x Cap. Booster Gold, etc. Justice League Task Force is of course the team up, with the team attack helpers like Legendary Battles and a hojillion of pumps.
Curently working on an Avengers/? team attack deck. In the past usual used both Cap America from Avengers. Will post when I can come up with a rough decklist.
Basically Cap is one of the cornerstones of the superhero universe so why not try and use him in a Vs deck.
its a modified version of gotham knights toys. splashing in the avengers for some team attacking and stat power.
"They face each other...cautious, determined...experienced....their eyes lock...they each draw breath...their blows land with almost no force at first...a tap...a brush...they test assess...a feint...a counter...a shift...a response...
"It's conceivable that you could beat me, Avenger. But it would take you a very long time. Tell me this, though--do you want to?"
"No. You're not the enemy. We're all just pawns, in a larger scheme."

I actually played with an Avengers/JLI for a little while, but at 3 it really wants to run Quicksilver over Cap. It would be tricky to make a version of a Avengers/JLI team-attack deck that could justify running Cap at 3 over Quicksilver.
4x Rick Jones
4x Natasha Romanoff
4x Captain America (3)
18x Damn Nazis (assuming they are 1 cost)
4x Legendary Battles

3x Millenium
3x Savage Beatdown (because I can't think of anything else)
4x Enemy of My Enemy
4x Forged In Crisis
4x Playroom
4x Birthing Chamber

Repped for quoting an awesome scene in the greatest universe crossover series ever.
Cap'n America, Skrull Imposter is TOTALLY a Primary drop for Skrulls...
I would actually debate that.
I run a Skrull/Legionairres, and Wolverine is my primary 3-drop.
Largely because he can use Mutopia and cards like Battleworld to team up around 7 or 8 teams for you on turn 3, giving Ethan Edwards 15 - 16 ATK when he hits on turn 4.

I concur wholeheartedly. I run Inhumans/Skrull and don't use Cap at all. Teh wolverine/mutopisa interaction is way too good.
