1. My opponent plays a search effect from resource row, with no cards in hand. I have Time trapper out (and visible). Presuming my opponent gets something that is (in terms of legality) immediately playable, does he have the opportunity to play it before time trapper's effect make him discard it? My guess is yes....unfortunately.
2. At what point does dark superboy's vengeance ability check the number of face down resources my opp has? Is it upon triggering (at which point my opponent can flip up in response) or upon targetting a character (in which case my opp might be able to fizzle the effect by flipping enough resources face up)?
3. For the DC comic buffs out there, why is dark kryptonian different from dark superboy? They are the same person.....aren't they? Surely it isn't just so you can play them both.....is it?
There were many more, all from a few crazy multi games I played....but these are all i can remember at present.
1. As always, triggered effects use the chain---there is a chance to act before Time Trapper's effect can resolve. Of course, characters and equipments aren't immediately recruitable, since the chain won't be empty for them.
2. As always, targeting requirements are checked at both announcement and resolution. If you no longer meet the requirement when his effect tries to resolve, the effect is negated. Triggered effects follow the normal targeting rules, btw, where you have to choose a legal target as part of placing the effect on the chain.
3. Not entirely sure, but I know that there were a couple attempts at the whole thing. Darkseid's minions accidentally grabbed Connor Kent the first time they were going after Superboy, and only afterwards went far enough back to grab a young Clark as "Superboy." All in all, I'm not sure if there were two separate Kryptonians converted into mockeries, but with all the time travel involved, and the fact that Clark did break free of his control, I wouldn't put it past him.
