Me and my friend were discussing Death Times Five today and he brought up something that I never noticed.

He argued that is he played this on an opposing attacker, that it would prevent the attacker's breakthrough and deal five to the attacker's controller. I thought it was that it made the defender's controller take 5 endurance loss. Help please?
The "that character" in "that character's controller loses 5 endurance" is the defending character.
It's in the FAQ for that set, I believe.
So you can use it when you're getting attacked, but you'll be the one taking 5 endurance loss. (so use it if they're causing 27 breakthrough or something.)
Think of it this way:
If you are being attacked for 6 to infinite breakthrough, take 5 instead.
If you are attacking your opponent and are causing 1 to 4 breakthough, turn that into 5 endurance loss for your opponent instead.
