My guess and you read it here first - Based on other related developments:
For you die hards, the game is going to get extremely powerful soon! CCG tactic #1 for a company that is geting suspect in it's credibility, with a declining brand: Power Escalation! Expect to finally have playable Superman, Batman and X-men decks. As in Dr. Light will look like a pansy compared to the new cards.
You can't afford not to buy boxes and boxes, as these cards are better than all those outdated old ones. Especially helpful to bring fence teetering noobs in by droves, as they can be instantly competetitive without buying any (or little) of the older material (which is getting cheaper on the secondary market anyhoo, thanks to older players leaving hte game.)
For more information glance at some of the Defenders cards in MTU.
Valkyrie (both), Defenders Defend, B team, Moon Knight, The Order.
Funny how none of those cards are even nearly as powerful as Frankie Raye or how The Order is a very limited version of Cosmic Radiation and Moon Knight is good but Quicksilver 2 is better... Defenders Defend is strictly better than every other defensive card in the game... For the Defenders. On attack... Where defensive pumps are usually lame duck. (From the Shadows?) And is merely on par with Spider-Senses on defense,... sometimes. Like if all your guys are exhausted and not gonna tag back.
So yeah, good cards, B Team is the only one even close to outclassing anything else and it only outclasses other "Keyword" specific searchers. Enemy is still better, Mobolize is still better half the time.
You know, when reading through the spoiler my first thought was: "Omg, look at the friggin power creep!" This was because all of the 6 drops with 12/13 or 13/12 stats and 5 drops with 9/10 or 10/9 stats just jumped off of the page at me.
Now I do not believe that power creep is neccessarliy a bad thing, but strictly in moderation. And what I was looking at seemed like full on Power Rampaging-About-And-Stomping-On-Lots-Of-Small-Things (TM) rather than a gentle creep, there were just so many. But before I fled to the keyboard to proclaim the end of the world and started preparing the Sky-Is-Falling shelter for use ... I stopped and went through the list methodically.
And do you know what I found? Barring the Sinister Sindicate drops (which are hard to decide whether they are overstatted or not with their significant drawbacks), there really weren't that many overstatted 5s. And, while there certainly were quite a number of overstatted 6s (about half of all of the 6s) there were almost no overstated 4s. In fact, a significant number of 4 drops were understatted.
So yes, there are a number of bigger-than-average 6s. But this happening once in a while does not mean the game is going tits up. Far from it. In fact, when I get the time I'm going to go through MHG and DCR and check the number of overstated characters in them. While I'm sure there will be fewer, I don't think that the difference will be very significant at all.
As to the powers ... if you really think that those are b0rken ZOMG powers ...
Finally, while I respect everyone's right to an opinion, and their right to spread aforementioned opinion about ... I really think you should examine your motivations for posting what you did. This thread could only have been created to cause panic and create fear and distrust towards UDE and, if that was your intention ... :disappoin
Damn but I come off as a pompous ### ... :nervous:
At the preview I could see the power creep in the printed ATK/DEF on the character cards themselves...but when coupled with the fact that a majority of the ATK/DEF pumps being +2...it didn't seem nearly as bad...at least for sealed and draft.
I'm going to go through MHG and DCR and check the number of overstated characters in them. While I'm sure there will be fewer, I don't think that the difference will be very significant at all.
Look at the X-Men starter deck as well. Colossus 5 drop: 10/10 with no cost, no loyalty, no drawbacks. He's a very underrated tank.
