Cap: 25, huh? The Death of Captain America. Pity. Don't know when that comes out. Maybe you can find it on ebay? Have you read Annihilation? That's pretty good. If you like cosmic conflicts concerning crazed loons in search of power and having the greatest cosmic alliance in the universe come together, you'd love Annihilation.
Cable and Deadpool is an amazing line, if for nothing else than its comedic value. Same with Irredeemable Ant-Man. Great stuff there.
Honestly, outside of the Civil War/Initiative stuff, I'm more of a DC reader. If you are at all interested in DC, there are a few series that just started recently that are incredible... JLA, JSA, Checkmate, Green Lantern, Ion...
Ultimate FF has been a great book -- both the art and writing has been excellent, across several different creative teams. I really can't decide what my favourite arc has been out of 40 or so issues.
Has been making a habit of shaming the "other" FF book.
There has been nothing as consistently good for the past few years as Daredevil. I thought I would miss Bendis and especially Maleev more but Brubaker and Lark were perfect as replacements.
Other great reads include: Runaways, X-Factor, New X-Men, and New Avengers.
Iron Fist started a few months ago and is great as well (Brubaker again).
When I was younger, I collected Spider-man, up until the whole clone saga debacle.
I've found now that I'm older I like DC titles more. I still read Ultimates [every 6 months when a new issue comes out] and Ultimate Fantastic 4, although I've never liked them as a team before.
Most of Marvel just doesn't compel me, or when it does, it doesn't stick because they're quick to hit a reset button if fans don't approve of changes. The 'Ultimate X' line seems to be immune to that guiding hand thus far. Unless it's Ultimate Spider-man, and then it's just bad to start with.
Mike Carey's adjectiveless X-men. Mike Carey has been a big fan of the X-men since he was young, and he really does the team justice. It's far better than the Uncanny X-Men with bru and tan.
Runaways has been and always will be a class act. It worries me though that Joss is only doing a 6 issue run?
New Avengers (the new street level MK team) has only been one issue in, but the banter between all the members is excellent. This brings a light heartedness to serious situations. Highly recommended.
The Ultimates2 still hasn't finished, but I expect the 3rd and 4th volumes of the book to be amazing. Jeph Loeb/Madureira for the 3rd, and Loeb/McGuinness for the 4th? YES PLEASE!
There are so many other books that are good that aren't just Marvel as well, if you're ever willing to take a chance.
