It's a Hard Life
Plot Twist, 2
Play only if you control an Arkham Inmates character.
To play, discard a card at random.
Negate target effect from a non-ongoing plot twist that shares a name with another card in its controller's resource row or KO'd pile.
A plot twist played from hand stays on the chain until its effect resolves or is negated. The target will be illegal on resolution if no card with the same name is in its controller’s KO’d pile or resource row.
In addition, if your opponent plays a non-ongoing plot twist from his resource row and you have some way to replace it, you can target that plot twist effect with It’s a Hard Life after doing so, because that plot twist card becomes “another card” as it changes zones between play and KO’d pile.
what would be the correct order one would play its a hard llife and a resource ko card mentioned in the last paragraph?
you play a replacement effect on the chain.
you let the replace resolve.
after its resolution you play its a hard life targetting the flying kick effect, since there is now a flying kick in the ko pile which is a different object than the one he played in his row.
that should be about right but someone will likely come by to clean up my language.

That looks right to me.
So by the same reasoning, if I play Future Friends from my resource row and manage to replace it in response, it'd give +2 Def?
Future Friends:
Target Team Superman attacker or defender you control gets +1 DEF this attack and an additional +1 DEF for each other Future Friends in your resource row and KO’d pile.
Okay, changing zones vs. flipping a resource back down:
I play Future Friends from my resource row.
I then chain Emma Frost's, Friend or Foe ability to turn that copy of Future Friends down. Emma's ability resolves.
I flip that Future Friends back up.
FF#2
FF#1 (the first time I flipped it.)
When FF#1 resolves, will it count FF#2 as a different copy and give +2 def (which would be +3 def for the whole chain)? i.e. Does flipping it back down give me the same result as having it change zones?
701.11d A resource that is turned face down is the same object, but it no longer remembers any choices that were made by it, or events that happened while it was face-up. This does not change its timestamp. It does retain any counters that were on it. Turning a resource face down does not alter its ready or exhausted characteristic. Turning a resource face down does not turn off "while ready" or "while exhausted" conditions.
It would be the same object, and thus wouldn't "count itself" as a different card.
