I don't know, I don't have a catchy name for it yet. What I do have is a pretty solid idea for a slew of Mimic tricks.
I basically built a framework of an X Energy deck, with a lot of recovery effects. The standard stuff really... Jubilee, Shadowcat, Xorn, Havok, Icemoan on 6, Rogue on 7...... With this i run some Magnetic Force for exhaustion, and some Xtreme Maneuvers.
As of now, I have some Finishing Moves and Mutant Massacres. I run 4 Children of the Atom, and a few other recovery tricks like Harry's Hideaway and an Angel of Mercy or two.
On top of the energy tricks, i added 2 drop Jean gray (a few of each version actually), the 5 drop new version, and a few of the 8 drop Phoenix Force. So while we don't have full energy characters, we do have a secondary focus of Jean Gray.
Xavier on 2 and more on 7 cover exhaustion and recovery nicely, helping 2 of our goals. And the real stong sleeper is Ilanya Rasputin on 5! Conc optional, 9/9 with range, more recovery... and an energy mutant to boot!
Since I am not sure on counts just yet, i wont post... but the character curve looks like this (with energy characters noted).
Now while everyone knows how Power Absorption Rogue works with Phoenix Force, look at what Mimic can do in this deck....
Copy...
Jubilee (a wash really, pay 2 to do 2, but brings both players lower)
Shadowcat (discard to hide him)
Xorn (pay 2 to recover soemone basically)
Ilyana (pay 2 and discard to recover ANOTHER character)
Storm (same drop, but if you underdrop now he can strip flight)
Xavier (exhaust twice to do damage)
Phoenix Force (bounce everyone)
To top it off, you REALLY want to hit Havok. With the recovery and removal/KO effects here, you can pop and KO their 4 drop on 4. If you have a recovery effect ready, take out the 3 also maybe. On 5 you can recovery and use him even more with Ilyana out. on 6, now him and Mimic both can stun 5's and lower, but their field should be really thin from turns 4 and 5 by now.
Hit a good run of recovery and him, and people cringe.
I know of more characters i wanrt to work into this build if i can, but sticking with energy while also looking to the Jean Gray build is a fine balance I think.
Anyone have any ideas or additions that might help?
