With so many people being in town and likely meeting for the first time, how many people want to get together Saturday night for some kind of dinner or something?
A pizza type place would allow for those so inclined to get some games in while eating, though a McDonald's type deal would serve that purpose as well.
While I expected it as well, I do think it might be a legitimate concept to work from.
One of my favorite parts of this game is the social side of things. You know, above and beyond crushing the insolent with decks they've never heard of :)
...or losing with them, but having a grand time none-the-less.
(cool concepts are what really make the game live for me. Any game for that matter. Ask me about my ALL KEN UFS deck that's even in Ken sleeves. Every card in the entire deck features a picture of the Street Fighter character Ken Masters. Awesome, right? lol)
But is there anything in the Irvine area worth going to? I always seemed to be amazed by how many good places there are, and no one knows about them. Except magicians, but they practice magic so it's unfair.
I'm gonna go ahead and say it right now: Any stripper in a Wonder Woman costume is going to get between 25.00 and 100.00 from me if she can make the costume work for her. (the $100.00 hinges on if she'll stand beside the table while we play and sing/hum the Wonder Woman theme song while we play.) I'll need special permission from Suanne in order to get a lap dance.
Just remember: no matter what a stripper might tell you, there is no sex in the champagne room. NONE. Oh, there's champagne. But you don't want champagne. You want a 4 drop Wonder Woman with her magic lasso... sorry.. lost my train of thought.. hey look a sea pony!!
Having done this sort of thing before (not staring at K-Town skanks, but getting together for dinner), i would recommend doing it the night before the big event, so people can roll into town early/have something to do when they roll into town.
That was my oringial thinking, but I don't want to try to organize something for a time when I won't even be around :(
We have to wait for one of our fold to finish his classes for the day on Friday before we can leave, and since we're looking at about 7 -8 hours of driving, I don't know that we'd make it to a dinner the night before, which is why I was suggesting the first night.
However, that doesn't even suggest that others able to do this on the Friday night shouldn't go ahead and do so. Just that about 8-10 of us won't be available out of the number of people at least partially excited about doing this. lol
