Well my friend wants to play silver with us at hobby. He is familiar with the game. But he wants to build wolverine legend.
Now I know it won't be top tier but our hobby league is all fun anyways. And since I don't know the 1st thing of wolvy legend. I'd figure I'd post a thread.
Here is my 5 minute rough draft:
4x archangel, 1 drop
4x Forge, MVL 2 drop
3x Gambit, MVL 2 drop
4x wolverine, logan
3x Sage, MXM 3 drop
4x Emma Frost, Mvl 4 drop
2x Wolverine, Hobby leage 4 drop
3x Wolverine, Bub
1x Cyclops. Mvl 5 drop
1x Cable, mvl 6 drop
1x Collossus, mvl 6 drop
2x Wolverine, 7 drop mvl.
32 characters
if you can get ahold of them i'd use x-men assemble...it's a plot twist from the AoA hobby leauge set that gives x-men characters a +1/+1 counter whenever it recovers.....and i would just concentrate on the 4 drop AoA wolverine and not run wolverine at 3....
The best Wolverine legend build I have seen is Brian Eugenio's that featured in the Last Man Standing article series. Check out VSSYSTEM.COM for the decklist. It's amazingly good.
have you looked in the trade forum here on realms? i'm sure people have them for trade or if not for trade for sale.....i know the AoA cards are harder to find, but i'm sure someone out there has some...and without x-men assembles i would say that the deck really isn't as effective
I've played a silver age curve X-Men Wolverine deck with great success at my Hobby League and a City Championships or two. From what I see of your build, you're confusing your strategies the same way I was when I started making it. If you want Wolverine to kill your opponent, pick a turn and focus on that being the one you play him on. Spreading him across your curve the way you have will lead to you replacing him in a deck that should be using recovery effects to keep its characters around. If you do repeat Wolverine at multiple points in your curve, I only suggest you do it at 5 and 7, or if you prefer 4 and 7 so you're likely not KO'ing a Wolverine on board to play him.
Once you focus on a turn like 4 or 5 (which I suggest you do as a multiple-attacking 3-drop will require a bunch of recovery effects to work as well), it'll make it easier to beat your opponents reliably and the deck will work much better in general when hitting its curve. Having Wolvie again on 7 will provide a contingency to win the game and use his legends cards.
Also, X-Men Assemble is insanely good in an X-Men curve deck. If you don't have any, I have a playset for trade if you're interested.
antone have a more budget friendly idea for a competitive silver wolvie legend?
Unfortunately, Wolverine Legends cards are pretty much all money rares so a budget friendly deck is pretty much out of the question. If you want to prioritize, you need 4x Adamantium Claws, 4x Berzerker Rage, 4x Mobilize, and you can do with only 1x Bub 'cause Best At What He Does (5-drop from X-Men set) is a good substitute, if not better. X-Men Assemble can make a huge difference as well.
I would focus on either Wolverine Covert Predator, Wolverine AoA or Wolverine Bub. X-Men assemble is a great card that puts the deck over the top, but it is better suited IMO in a X-Babies deck.
Anyway I don't see a copy of A Clash of Worlds and that card can help you have multiple Wolvies in play and help you if you had to substitute a Wolvie. New and Improved is ok but it isn't better than having 2 characters.

Clash of Worlds and worrying about non-uniqueness is going to bog the deck down. It's better to just design a curve without having to worry about uniqueness and go from there. Also, if you're needing to be budget conscious, Best At What He Does works great in place of Bub, or even just in support of him to fill out your curve.
The thing about A Clash of Worlds is that he runs to many copies of Wolverine. 3,4,5,and 7th turn drops. Unless he builds a curve that isn't that heavy on Wolvie he's gonna have to run ACoW unless he plans to New and Improve his way into victory, and thats not going to happen. Sure he has Mobilize and Worthington Industries but sometimes decks just don't want to run as they are meant to and you are forced to replace drops, it's not a mayor concern in the deck but he might want to play a copy or two just in case. Also once an opponent notices this is a Wolvie deck he's going after him on his initiative and could save KO cards like Finishing Move to respond to Healing Factor. If you have more than one Wolvie cards like Berserker Rage or Adamantium Claws would never fail to hit a Wolvie. That plus the fact that the only other ATK pump in the deck that isn't Wolvie orientated are 3 copies of Flying Kick so he has to make the most out of what he has. Remember I'm only giving a few tweak ideas not rebuilding his whole deck.
