I find these as wastes of space in this set that could of been used to flush out other teams please let me know who they are and why are they so cool?

Nextwave is a group of 5 pirate superheroes fighting bizarre weapons of mass destruction released on the unknowing public by the terrorist Beyond Corporation, which is run by Devil Dinosaur, who wants to eliminate the race of monkeys (read: us) that humiliated him in his youth.

Nextwave is a satire on the comic industry, and is one of the most genuinely fun comics I've seen in a long time.

Then why is Monica Rambeau on the team it just seems like a waste

Because Monica Rambeau was on the team. She was sort of their leader.

As to it being a waste...why? Because your favorite team didn't get 5 more cards? My favorite teams have been dicked over in every single set since post DCR, and I don't make topics whining about it. Almost none of my favorite teams are playable by themselves in the entire god damn game. But I kick back and have fun, knowing that they're all, even Wolverine #700000000, someone's favorite character.

They were in Nextwave, Marvel Zombies vs Army of Darkness, Civil War, Ms. Marvel, and Black Panther, though their appearances outside of the Nextwave comic have been extremely brief.

plus the captain looks amazing. Like, really really amazing. busted amazing even. outside of the comics universe, you have to respect the busted-ism.

NextWave is an amazing book. Funny funny funny stuff. As characters, they would find it hilarious that their existence cause you anger. Which is totally in flavor with their book. Heh. NextWave.

There's five people on the team. Why not let them have 5 cards? The comic is genuinely hilarious. One of the best "funny" comics I've read in a long time.

I'll admit - I laughed out loud at Monica Rambeau, while Aaron Stack made my roommate giggle and one of my friends was cracking up at Elsa Bloodstone. They're great cards. We'll probably never see more of them, and that definitely makes me sad, but they are pretty awesome.

everything you could want to know about the NextWave is in the wiki entry. I'm pretty much re-affirming what everyone here has said already. Nextwave was a fun book and would still continue to be a fun book had it been allowed to continue.

Players who are both fans of comics and VS will really get a kick out seeing obscure teams gracing the cardboard backs of our favourite game. It may even get new players into the game. So if 5 cards bring new players into the game and promote VS then i say the 5 cards are well worth it, even if it only brings in 1 extra player.

There's a fellow at my comic shop that I used to play Vs. with who has since quit since there isn't any place to play in town. When I told him that MUN had NextWave in it he said:

"Awwwww mannn, now I HAVE to buy some MUN."
