Three Things:

First, we've started The Syndicate forum to automatically aggregate all the blog updates into one forum.

I've seeded the forum with two blogs that I know are active, but since there are about 100 blogs in the list, I'm not going to go through them all and see who is actively updating. Therefore, if you would like your blog syndicated in this forum, please PM me (do not reply to this thread) with the following:

1. VSRealms Username (If more than one person posts to the blog, please just pick the "primary")
2. RSS Feed Link
3. Name of the Blog

Second, consider this your notice that the "Just updated my blog posts" will no longer be allowed in the general forum. The Syndicate will check all blogs every 30 minutes, so trust me, people here will know when you post. I will probably also put a widged on the front page with the last 5 or 10 updates.

Third, if your blog's content becomes controversial, questionable, inappropriate, or if you do things like "update floods" to get your stuff on the front page, we reserve the right to remove your syndication for that or any other reason.

If there are any questions, please let me know.

Um... okay? Am I allowed to simply move my thread to that forum? The "random pile of updates" format seems awfully cluttered, and I'd rather keep my thread the way it is so I can maintain an index.

There's also the issue that some bloggers post about things that aren't VS-related, so there's really no point having those posts automatically listed in that forum. Letting bloggers manually post stuff if they wish would let them do content filtering.

(I am thankful that we're getting the blog forum we asked for, I just think giving the option for both types of update mechanism would be nice)

This is the format we're going with, harnessing the power of automatic syndication. It'll be a little cluttered at first as we aggregate everything, but once everyone is loaded in it'll be relatively in line with your normal update.

As far as non-Vs. related posts, that's to be expected and fine.

Ok, so alternately, can you unlock my thread so I can link to it in my sig and keep maintaining my index there, without posting new updates in it to make it bump? Cuz... like... NOBODY else has their thread locked. :/

You were the only person that posted after I put up the announcement not to bump any more threads.

If I unlock it wouldn't there be a chance that someone else would post in it and start this all over again?

How about I'll unlock it, and you can lock it yourself (you should be still be able to edit it if you lock it yourself.)

It's pretty easy to miss a thread that isn't linked on the front page.

I like this idea, but for the first week or so (until people stopp asking to be put on there) it will be relatively useless. But after that, it should be awesome.

I could see about having it where each blog is a single post, and the updates are bulleted, similar to the way Twitter is setup, but I really think that this will be cleaner in the long run.

If anyone wants to see the list of all updates from a particular blog, they can just search the title.

Yeah, I like the set up, actually. With the search capabilities it makes it very easy to find stuff, just a matter of getting everybody aware.

yeah i like it. Of course it looks cluttered right now every body's old post are back logged and then it's all grouped, but not everyone post 10 times a day and if you are then it's probably syndication whoring. I think it will work in the long run and it definitely makes it easier than having to post myself everytime i update.
