Well I made this deck at first because of a suggestion here a while back, originally it was a TT/JLA build but recursions of plot twist weren't as effective as I wanted. I really liked the idea but I thought it needed some work so I changed it a bit and it never did get any better. At the first the concept was to abuse 3 drop BB and fill him up with counters due to Call of the Wild and then hit double time hard with TTG! to clear the board and a Headstrong Charge for the win. I realized that it was very risky to be putting all my eggs in a 3 drop Basket since there are so many things that can screw up a 3 drop, I also missed him like crazy even with Mobilizes don't ask me why but it happened. So enter MUN and Carrying the Torch to breathe new life into the deck and Secret Society to the rescue at the recursion part. Here is the deck list:
3- The Riddler, Riddle me This
1- Chemo Toxic Waste
4- Dr. Sivana Mad Scientist
3- Zatanna, Sucoh Sucop!
4- Poison Ivy, Intoxicating
4- Beast Boy, Garfield Logan
4- Aquaman,Founding Member
2- Black Manta, Underwater Marauder
2- Deathstroke the Terminator, Killing Machine
1- Aquaman, Lord of Atlantis
4- Poseidonis
2- Hidden HQ
1- Remote Facility
2- Construction Site
1- Alias Investigations
4- Straight to the Grave
4- Forced Conscription
4- Carrying the Torch
4- Call of the Wild
3- New Era
3- Master Plan
Mind you the deck is for casual play, but I have tons of fun with it. Between Poseidonis, Alias Investigations, Construction Site, 6 drop Aquaman and Black Manta I have tons of ways to replay all my Call of the Wilds on my Beast Boy named Aquaman.
All the eggs are now in a 4 cost basket. If you play 3 Call of the Wild (usually I can play only 2 but 3 are a possibility and I have done it) Aquaman should be big enough on the 4th turn to survive the onslaught it will be receiving. Then when having odds send a big Aquaman into their 5 drop to then send Black Manta into their 4 drop. While I only play 2 five drops I have yet to miss them, either I'm very lucky or its unavoidable by all the things I can do to get him into play.
Never forget to return a character to your hand whenever you can with Aquaman, Founding Member it really helps when in need of power ups or for discarding to Dr. Sivana.
I hate Cable, Secret Avenger and Frog of Thunder and have no way of defending against them. Luckily only one of my playing buddies uses the cards. I could put Pathetic Attempt and/or Omnipotence but since this is a deck for fun I haven't even bothered.
New Eras are there to replay the Poseidonis/Alias Investigations or Poseidonis/Construction Site move. You can also do Poseidonis/Dr. Sivana. All that work makes Aqua/Boy bigger faster.
Don't really know if 4 Beast Boys are overkill and maybe I should reduce them to 3 or play one of the 6 drops from DCL just in case I want to have 2 big bodies on the board, they should be receiving team attacks anyway so no worries about breakthrough.
Anyway I was wondering if you guys think that this deck can be tweaked to perform better. I have been working with the deck for a while now and I really have no more ideas to make it better. Thanks in advance.
I think it works strongly as a really fun deck. It would be some very tough calls to make to tell you to add in something like Pathetic Attempt. I think its a cool deck to itself.
I really like the idea. There are a few things that come to mind:
1) SHRA/UM: If you end up alt-dropping on 2 or 3, you may miss being able to play Manta. My gut says to either max out Society characters in those early slots or play a copy of Super-Human Registration Act or Underground Movement so you don't miss on 5.
2) You've got the Society toolbox characters (Riddler/Chemo/Ivy) but you're really not playing that deck. Why not improve the core of your deck by just playing 4x Riddler and go for the turbo-ko'd pile thing while ignoring the toolbox. This allows you the freedom of potentially just PLAYING Beast Boy on 3 and making a sick character without needing to Carry the Torch.
3) This deck is BEGGING for The Captain on 4. He's ridiculous. Especially with Posidonis.
4) Deathstroke seems really out of place. If you believe me about The Captain, then 4x Aquaman on 6 is the way to go.
Just my initial thoughts. Oh, and if you REALLY want to have some fun, try using the Illuminati Sub-Mariner on 3 with Atlantis instead of Beast Boy and really go crazy with fishy recursion. My build can pretty much allow me to play any plot twist three times on turn 4, and four times on turn 5. The trick is picking the right plot twist. Call of the Wild is a great option. I've been thinking that some sort of Messiah Complex combo is the way to go.

1) SHRA is a very good suggestion, I have to see where I can fit it in. I can't max out anymore the 2 and 3 drops for Secret Society as they are already at 4 each. I have to keep Zatanna in so that I can play New Era effectively and consistently and BB is the Carrying the Torch subject.
2) I don't have 4 copies of Riddler :( so I play my 3 , anyway I just love Chemo, especially if anyone wants to say Omnipotence Call of the Wild. I have also used Chemo to get an extra use of Call of the Wild by replacing into it my own resources. It even helped me once to get Carrying the Torch into my resource row.
3) I like the Captain I won't lie but he is useless to me on turn 4. You see he gains the name at the start of the combat phase and Call of the Wild can only be played at the build phase, so I would have to wait until the 5th turn to boost him up and thats anywhere from 2 to 8 counters depending on the draws. I'm not going to risk loosing them, so no The Captain for me :( .
4) Deathstroke is nice in the deck because I can play him on six and on seven if I play a Carrying the Torch on him too. I always prefer playing Aquaman on six, unless my opponent has the initiative. Uniqueness is not a problem with Aquaman since the 4 drop is now Aquaman/Beast Boy. I might change the numbers and play 2 Aquaman and one Dethstroke on the six though.
I don't think that it will work well in this deck because I want to use Poseidonis to add counters via Call of the Wild. Perhaps if I add Asgard I can do this, but is it worth it? What things could be removed? I mean I would have to add at least 2 Asgards, and 4 Shape Change + a 9 drop character or bigger. Seven cards I think is too much. But still open to suggestions.
