Does Scrubbed Raid have to send the card to the graveyard to be able to activate? I have been compairing this to Card Trooper and Honest, which of course cannot activate there effects vs Cosmos. I am assuming this is the case, but just want confirmation from someone else besides myself.
Based on what this ruling would be let me know if I can use tokens or not. If I can use Dandylion and its tokens for Scrubbed Raid.... better than Swords? I know that would be too good to be true so I am not holding high hopes for that.
Interestingly enough, this would have be great to know when watching a Final Countdown deck that constantly used Scrubbed Raid vs Cosmos at my last regionals and no one said a word.
since it says specifically to send to the graveyard, i would have to say yea, its a requirement for the card. so as for cosmos, it wouldnt be able to activate, since it cant reach its designated area, the graveyard.
as for the tokens, i dont think so just because it says "card". if it said monster, i would say go for it. use all the dandy and scapegoat you like. but im not sure how tokens are specifically counted as. i know their monsters after being created. but if they are looked at as cards? idk. might have to wait for HDI on that one.
Well as far as tokens go, I am not so much looking at the fact that they aren't technically cards as the fact they can't reach the graveyard. I know that "card" technicallity would fall through as I can use Scapegoat for other certain tributes and blow them up with things that say "destroy X card/cards on the field." If they would be considered cards for such effects like that, I assume they would be in the same boat for Scrubbed Raid.
But since tokens cannot go to the graveyard, I basically assume that I can't use them for Scrubbed Raid. Of course HDI will have an answer to all this as he typically anwers like 95% of the questions asked here before anyone else can get to the answers. Funny how we just assume he will post on a thread and bring the right answer.
Sending one other card you control to the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" which ends the Battle Phase.
And if it's a cost to send to the Graveyard, then you MUST be able to send to the Graveyard, thus if Macro Cosmos, Banisher of the Light, or Banisher of the Radiance is out, then you cannot use it at all. Or if Dimensional Fissure is out, you at least can't send any monsters to activate it. You also could not use Tokens since Tokens can never actually be sent to the Graveyard, removed from play, etc. (That is just for costs though; if the sending/removing/etc is part of the effect, then it's ok unless rulings say otherwise.)
EDIT: So far, the best combos there have been has been using it with Black Ptera. Otherwise, there's things like Limiter Break to get a free Speed Warrior to "replace" it or Black Pendant for 500 damage, or other things that can activate in the Graveyard and wouldn't miss the timing.
