Well they name for my LS deck has 2 reasons behind it. 1st reason being is that is what Lightsworn typically does anyway. The other reason is how I got this deck.
So I went to my local card shop yesterday (April 19th which is exactly 2 months before I am married) and I was originally going there only to kill some time before my fiance was off and to pick up some cash from cards of mine that had sold on ebay, (my local card merchant handles all my ebay dealings). After I first sat down I noticed that a kid that I have only seen a handful of times before was there. I remembered that he ran LS. I asked him if he still had the deck and if he wanted to play. He said he had the cards, but grew tired of the deck and was running something different. I asked him if he was willing to trade any of his LS stuff, namely Judgment Dragon. He said everything, even Judgement, was able to be traded provided he got something worth his while. I knew I was in for a hard trade, but how it went surprised me.
I handed the kid my binder and he looked through eyeing my Mezuki, Ultimate Zombie Master, Burial from a Different Dimension and some random synchro monsters. I looked through his binder as well and only found a few holos that I wanted. I figured nothing would be big enough to get the Judgment Dragons I wanted. He asked if I had anything in my decks I would be willing to trade. I handed him my Junk Synchro Deck, Light Machine, Gravekeeper and Flamvell Cat decks, retaining Final Countdown as it is my regionals deck. He looked through Light Machine, GK and Flamvell and found nothing... He seen my Junk Synchron deck and everything changed.
He thumbed through it and asked if my Dark Armed Dragon was for trade. I figured if it helps me get a Judgment Dragon why not. He kept thumbing through it and he got a grin as if he liked he deck. And that is when he said he wanted the entire deck. He loved it. He thought it was a great use of Dark Armed, Strike Ninja and D.D. Scout Plane. Sure the deck was good, but I didn't think it was that good. He said he had most of the parts such as all the commons and some of the holos like Gorz and Heavy Storm, but wanted the core of the deck. He also laid out some other stuff from my binder he wanted. I ask him what he would offer for it. He offered:
1 Dark Armed Dragon
3 Strike Ninja
1 Mind Control
2 CRV 1st Cyber Dragon
2 Bottomless Trap Hole (Gold)
1 Torrential Tribute (Gold)
1 Blackwing Gale the Whirlwind
1 Rare Necro Gardna
1 Mezuki
1 Burial from a Different Dimension
1 Zombie Master ULT
1 Magical Android
1 Dark Eruption
1 Tragoedia
1 Dark Nephtys
3 D.D. Scout Plane (common)
2 Ultra Scrap Iron Scarecrow
other crappy random commons and such
At first I thought he was joking cuz his Judgment Dragons are worth $120 for the set and Dark Armed, Mezuki and Burial combined are only worth $75. Everything else isn't worth hardly anything and might be enough to get me both Judgments with the Ghost Honest that I didn't need. But he said he would do the trade no questions asked. My jaw dropped.
I don't know how or why he thought it was a good trade but he did. So for the first time I am running LS. I have a general idea of what to run, but since I never pay any attention to LS matches or when I play against them cuz its kinda boring to watch, I may need a little help. I am mainly posting this thread though to tell about my outstanding deal that I got and how I got so lucky in that trade.
Side Deck:
3 Goldd Wu-Lord of Dark World
2 Crevice into the Different Dimension
1 Mystical Space Typhoon
1 Necro Gardna
3 System Down
2 Consecrated Light
3 Threatening Roar
Ryko I wouldn't run in 3s. Maybe 2 at most but more than likely 1 as they are too slow for LS. I mainly want them for another name for JD's summoning "requirement" and a easy way to kill something like Oppression. I may take out a Celestia for a Ryko but not 3. Jain will stay since it actually mills during the end phase which is more crutial now than ever since Charge is at 1.
Mind Control would be totally pointless as I only have 1 tuner. I am even debating on not running Brain Control cuz I never need to use it. I just keep it around cuz it can end games by itself. Trunade on the other hand I might run. I do need something to add to the safety of summoning Judgment Dragon and Celestia.
Beckoning may go down to 2 but so far I am loving it at 3. I mill Beckoning often, but I need them as the let me seach milled win conditions. I think Beckoning highly overlooked as this decks win condition. And since they help me abuse JD and Celestia I feel almost compelled to keep them
Ehren is too good to not run right now. With Flamvell Cat focusing on facedown monsters and being able to drop kick monsters back without flipping them makes Ehren the best tool LS has against Cat. I actually want to add another.

You are misreading ehren. Ehren flips cards when it attacks. A flip effect will activate once the card is sent from the field to the deck.
Bewlidering Trade Story Aside (and congrats on obtaining the By Far better deal of the Trade) Sadly - I'm Forced To agree With Jeff there MK on the Ehren Issue
Ehrens Effect Ruling is that Ehren will send Monsters Back to the owners deck and then later the Flip Effects will still resolve. Ehren will see the monster flip and then send it back to the deck, after that the flip effect will activate and resolve properlly.
Quote
* The Defense Position monster attacked by "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk" is shuffled into its owner's Deck.[1]
Quote
* “Ehren, Lightsworn Monk” can use its effect to return face-up and face-down Defense Position monsters to the owner's Deck.[1]
Quote
* When "Ehren, Lightsworn Monk's" effect is applied, Damage Calculation does not occur. Neither player receives Battle Damage to their Life Points.[1]
Quote
* Note that “Ehren, Lightsworn Monk” does not say “without flipping the monster face-up”. The effect of “Ehren, Lightsworn Monk” is applied after the monster is flipped face-up, but before damage calculation. If the Defense Position monster was face-down and has a Flip Effect, the Flip Effect will activate and resolve normally after it is returned to its owner's Deck.[1]
But I Do agree That this deck needs 1 if not 2 Ryko's - 3 does seem overkill to me but dropping a Monster Reincarnation for one does seem a plausible option ....
I actually never knew that. I always thought it just drop kicked the monster right away kinda like how Neo-Spacian Grand Mole autobounces things. But I do see the difference now. Neo-Mole says before the "damage step" and Ehren is "damage calculation." I guess I should have known this as Ehren is just like Catastor. Thanks for cleaing that up. I still will run 1 regradless since they are very good either way.
Monster Reincarnation might not be dropped, but I might drop either an Arkus or Garoth for it. Garoth just never seems to get the job done now without Lumina being able to ditch to summon him from the graveyard consistantly. I always find it getting destroyed long before it ever gets a chance to get it effect off.
lmao wow, I am pretty much going crazy right now. I was almost tempted to ask if you traded ME this past week, because I just unloaded all my lightsworn stuff too, except I got a grip of plant stuff, random synchros, and an Ipod touch for my troubles. not to mention this REALLY nice custom made playmat that features gigaplants and tytannial.
I unloaded my LS for a bunch of reasons, mostly due to the reprint of JD coming in june and the fact that his price is falling more and more every day. I was also tired of playing it and wanted something new. It was really hard to let it all go, I had spent nearly 3 years collecting every piece of that deck, and it was all max rarity and 1st ed. You can imagine my heartbreak to see it all go away.
Anyways, I wish you luck with the deck. May it bring you as much joy as my LS did for me. Here's to wishing for good draws and better mills =p.
Sounds like you got a good trade since you got a Ipod and a mat out of it, as long as the synchros you got were decent. An ipod for cardboard is always a good deal. Money is also always good. And alot of my trades recently have involved me getting cash in some way.
LS has always been something I have wanted to run, but never would even dream of paying a single penny to play it. I know that JD is losing his value, but I see secrets and ultimates leveling out at $50 and the gold series being around $40. I get my reasoning for this through DaDs price on secret vs. gold series. But despite that JD is losing money, I plan on keeping them for now. I don't want to try to pour my money into Gold series to get JD, because chances are I will be putting more money into that and not even get a JD.
I have throwing around the idea of main decking Shiny Black "C" since every deck in the meta synchro summons. I would take a recent SJC level LS deck and with Necro limited, I would add SBC in there place and in place of the 3rd Honest. So far the 3 Wulf have really been paying off since otherwise there is hardly anything else to mill.
Wow, awesome story behind the deck. Anyway I think you NEED at lest two Rykos, yeah just two should be fine, they send stuff from for deck to the grave and destroys a spell trap or monster so he can be used for a number of thing.
And I'd rather drop a Pot instead of a Monster Reincarnation, Pot adds to the deck but Reincarnation is to the hand, I find it is a vastly helpful card in a LS deck (like mine)

I am starting to agree on 2 Ryko. After testing today I noticed that Ryko was more helpful that most other LS monsters 90% of the time. 3 I still think would be over kill, especially with Nobleman of Crossout seeing some play.
I like running Pot and Reincarnation. I really have no plans on dropping either. I am really starting to love Herald of Creation. I won 3 games today on just its effect alone. I think I may have to add another one in place of a Wulf. And already everyone thinks I stack cuz I have JD 1st turn every game.
Now I have something to add to my amazing trade. The kid traded a friend of mine 2 of my Strike Ninjas and Mezuki the next day, and he is willing to trade them back to me. So in other words I traded a Dark Armed, Burial from the Different Dimension and crap for an entire LS deck. This is just unreal to me.
I have dropped Garoth altogether now. He is pointless in this format. Since Lumina got limited he just has nothing left to make him really useful. I replaced him with a 2nd Ehren, which has been a huge help to the deck. So many targets are still really good to attack with Ehren despite Ryko and Hampster being played in most decks. I just can't wait for AD Changer to come out so Ehren can be ran in 3 consistantly.
Garoth is just another name to add to the Lightsworn Dragon's effect, (300 ATK for each Lightsworn with a different name) Which I just noticed you don't have that guy in this deck!
I really think you should put one in, he has piercing damage and his attack can go through the roof very quickly, also you don't even need to tribute for him to get his effect (like you must do with the Angel) so you just pull him from you grave with Glorious Illusion and smack you foe with a piercing attack up to 4000 or high!

Gragonith is actually pretty decent and I have thought about trying one for fun, but I don't know how well he would do. I know against DandyWarrior it would be great since Dandylion would suck nuts against it. I might side a few for that match up, but I don't know how comfortable I am with running one main decked.
I had the same thought about Shire, Lightsworn Spirit as it could have fairly decent attack quickly, but how often will it be worth my while? I have noticed that summon JD has been a little bit slower since I have reduced the number of names of Lightsworns. I may throw Garoth back in just for that reason.
I have a Shire in my deck but mostly just for another name to add for either of the Dragons (Judgment and Gragonith) Really I rarely use her, but since she's level 3 she helped me beat a stall deck that used Gravity Bind.
If you pull her out at the right time she can be pretty powerful and the Lightsworn Summoner can pull her out of the grave so I'd say she's a ok card.

I do like the fact that she is a 3 so she can be revived with Lumina. But since Lumina is at 1 I don't know how often that will happen, or if she will ever be my best target. I typically go for my Arkus since he has helped so much in this format (no Book of Moon, Mind Control, Brain Control, Mark of the Rose, Dimensional Prison, etc.).
I like Shire mainly for the fact that she would be a fairy for Archlord Kristia, which is the #1 card I am after at the moment. That is my biggest concern for playing Shire.
