NKO's favourite and always been one of mine. From his latest build I can tell we share the same view that this deck will move toward a hyper-agressive build, but I don't share his views on using more static spell cards that are going to be the key of a lot of stoppage. I fully expect sabers to be on top of things this format, and naturia beast will present problems. I also don't feel like playing multiple golems when a lot of decks will be going for one monster a turn. Instead I focused on upping the burn aspect.
1 Morphing Jar
3 Swift Scarecrow
2 Battle Fader
1 Gorz, the Emissary of Darkness
2 Chain Strike
2 Pot of Duality
3 Poison of the Old man
1 Scapegoat
3 Accumulated Fortune
3 Jar of Greed
3 Legacy of yata garasu
2 Ojama Trio
2 Fire Darts
3 Secret Barrel
3 Just Desserts
2 Magic Cylinder
3 Dimension Wall
1 Ceasefire
With Samurai out of the picture, and multiple MST's keeping decree from being a huge issue, I think Chain Burn stands a good shot in the early format. Its easy and cheap to build and its extremely fun to play.
I do like this list a lot, but with upping the burn aspect, if you look at my new deck i am at a 29/40 burn cards and 11/40 draw cards currently... Game 1 is very much a guarented win while then u side in the stall game 2 and 3, at least is how my take of the deck is right now, though i do like this build also i will test it out
will have to see what they side against us before I decide to go stall or counter in the side. did think of a small flaw with this list though. Will have to make the scarecrows into roars to make fire darts work adequately.
yeah, POD is at 10 bucks and more right now, you can basically buy the tin and be better off, get some cards in the process. Scarecrow is what ? 20 cents a piece ? And like I said, although scarecrow is in a sense better than roar, if you play this deck with the fire darts i have in there, might be wiser to play roar instead (two scarecrow/fader in the hand renders your darts dead)
this new format coming up, roar is better than both fader n scarecrow, in all honesty no one should even be looking at fader.... I would run 3 roar before I ran 3 scarecrow, just in the sense that it adds to the chain and you dont need your opponent to atk for it to be on the chain, even if they mst/heasy storm it say in there mainphase you then can just go off on your chain, the only thing that hurts is an endphase mst and they hit it, but you should be consistintly putting 5 backrows down so the odds are in your favor of them hitting it.
good point, better at baiting the storm, plus it lets me play fire darts. The remaining two slots though :
2 scarecrow (can't be stopped by solemn)
2 Fader (can be stopped by solemn, 2000 damage, but breaks the chain)
2 Waboku (same as roar, but could suck balls if you face GB and you give them free access to heraklinos)
i would honestly say for the other two spots id put in ether thunder shorts of tremendous fire cards win me a lot of games.... also with the ruling in the tcg with xyz's materials are cards on the field which then means secret barrel just got even better
Need more defense though I think. Giving some thought to scrubbed raid, that card is fantastic in this deck, if it weren't an excuse to use their MST's. Not sure on the secret barrel thing though. They already said it wouldn't work for the likes of spatial collapse etc.
Well secret barrel says cards on the field and in hand and if the ruling is that sangan gets to search if it's material its got to be on the field so I wouldn't see why that wouldn't work ya know...
Well someone on Julia hedbergs facebook forum "adjudication conflagration" asked the question whether or not a player with 5 cards and spatial collapse active could xyz summon, since he would then have a 6th card in play (if the xyz materials were cards on the field). Pretty much everyone was adamant and in agreement (some even claimed to have had it from the mouth of Tewart himself) that you could indeed xyz summon because the xyz materials are not cards on the field. So pretty sure if you try that in a tournament they will rule against you.
But then sangan wouldn't be getting us effect if he wasn't a card on the field.... They changed that ruling at Indy
This particular issue was a while AFTER the rulings change. I made the exact same remark, because originally sangan read "this card on the field ...", but apparently that's no longer the case, now it reads something like "when this card is sent from the field to the graveyard ...", so they said that its a card in the graveyard and it was sent from the field, but that doesn't mean it was necessarily a card on the field. Pity I can't link to a particular facebook topic or I'd show you. I think they even explicitly included barrel as another example and that it wouldn't work.
EDIT : maybe I can link, lmk if you can see the topic when you click this :
