Flyingicarus and I are playing a game to have fun with the Star Trek sets that are coming out. We don't normally go outside of the Marvel/DC window that much but we were both geeking out about the Next Generation set so we figure why not? In this game he'll be playing Original Series figures while I will be playing Next Gen. We plan to reverse that when this game is done
Picard:
Captain's Log, Stardate: 1012.18.33 - The Enterprise is transporting the Duras sisters to Vexos 9 for a meeting with another faction of the Klingon Empire. I always expect mischief when those two are aboard, so I have assigned Tasha Yar to keep a close watch on them. Lt. Commander LaForge has just reported a strange temporal anomaly coming from the Deneb system, which our route unfortunately requires us to pass very near to if we want to arrive for the conference on schedule. I have instructed him to keep a very close eye on it and to notify me immediately if it should begin flaring up. The last thing we need right now is for the Enterprise to get caught up in some sort of time travel nonsense.
"How do we trust the Klingons, Jim?" Dr. McCoy asks.
"There is no benefit to this being a deception, McCoy," Mr. Spock says, "It is illogical."
"Don't get me started, Spock."
"It's nice that you two have such energy," Captain Kirk says, "Now let's see it for what's coming ahead. Kang...".
"Captain," Kang says with Klingon allies backing him up, "I know this is as difficult for you as it is for me but time is pressing. We need to put our differences behind us."
"I'm getting a reading, Captain," Ensign Chekov says, "There appears to be a time anomaly just like Kang told us."
"Mr. Scott?".
"Our teleporters are ready, Captain, but I cannae be sure she can handle the strain of all this teleporting..." Mr. Scott says.
"Who had 5 minutes?" McCoy asks.
"5 minutes?" Scotty asks.
"I did," Yeoman Rand says, "And it was how long before you said that."
"Romulans, Klingons," Kirk says, "We're going to see a lot of folks we have had a history with. We're going to need to get them on board with us fast or else the timelines will continue to blend. Apparently we have opponents trying to stop us. What do we know about them?".
Spock looks at his reader. "Well, this is certain unexpected...".
"What trick is this, Picard?" B'Etor got right up into Picard's face. Picard did his best not to flinch away from whatever was on B'Etor's breath from her pungent last meal.
"Back off!" Tasha Yar got between them. A few other ensigns moved to back her up.
"You back off!" Lursa said. "This is what we get for trusting the Federation. Where are we? What is this?"
"I know as little about this as you do," Captain Picard said. "My chief engineer had just reported a flare of power from a temporal anomaly and then we found ourselves here."
"A likely story," B'Etor hissed.
"N..no, it's true!" Barclay stammered.
"Mr. La Forge, status report!" Picard barked.
"It's the anomaly all right," Geordi said. "I'm reading temporal energies coming off of all of us. It's hard to say whether we've just been transported off the Enterprise to this place, or whether we've actually been displaced temporally. I'm running a scan. I should have more information in a few minutes."
"Whoa! Check out those guys!" Ensign Crusher had climbed onto a outcropping and was pointing across the rocky field. "Those are Starfleet uniforms they're wearing, but they're from almost a hundred years ago. And they've got Klingons with them too."
"Wesley, get down from there!" Picard snapped.
"I guess that answers your question about temporal displacement," Barclay said.
"Not necessarily," Geordi pointed out. "Are we the ones displaced in time, or are they?"
"Or both of us," Tasha added.
"Right, or both," Geordi conceded the third possiblity.
"If they're Starfleet as well, we should try talking to them," Picard said. "Perhaps together we can piece together what's..."
"Traitorous female!" one of the Klingons from the other same ran forth and attacked Lursa.
Picard moved with speed to hit the Klingon with a phaser beam before he could further hurt Lursa or anyone else. "Well, so much for diplomacy," he sighed.
