From looking at updated powers card it appears that after mind controling a character you are only allowed to give them a free action. Does that mean you can not give them an attack or move action?

Make sure you are reading the Mind Control re-write in the General FAQ. The relevant line is:
"Each successfully-hit target may be assigned a power action, move action, close combat action, or ranged combat action as a free action."

So the character may be given a move action, a close combat action, ranged combat actoin or a power action. This action is given as a free action which means it does not cost you one of your allotted actions for the turn, the MCed character does not receive a token, and you can MC a pushed character but you can still have the character do something that requires a move, power, close combat, or ranged combat action.

In addition - you can use a free action along with an action that would normally result in a token.

What I mean is - you can use Batman's Outwit and then attack while he's being MC'd...

We're awaiting an official FAQ entry that resolves this issue. So until then, I'd rather not speculate on what the rule will be.
