My friend and I played a game on the new NOT set Atlantis Throne Room (outdoor) map a few weeks back. We still disagree on how part of the map should be interpreted.

To start, we agree that it is mostly water. The question is about the printed hindering terrain, printed blocking terrain when destroyed and added terrain objects when destroyed.

printed hindering: Since the printed hindering squares have water art on them, because it is an "all water" map, one party believes the printed hindering is both types of terrain at the same time, water and hindering. The other believes it is hindering only.

printed blocking: Similarly, because it is an "all water" map and the printed blocking has water art on it, one party believes that if you destroy it and it becomes hindering terrain, the new designation of that square is both hindering and water. The other choice is hindering only.

added terrain objects: Once again, because it is an "all water" map, one party believes that the added blocking, elevated and hindering terrain are also water terrain and when destroyed become hindering and water. The other party believes that the upper most terrain overrides the printed map and the added terrain type is the only type that applies.

The answer to this would not change the result of our game. It only came up in one or maybe two attacks. But we would like to know, especially since we both bought the PAH kit to get this map specifically to run dolphin teams on.

The entire map is within a blue boundary line. The whole map is water terrain in addition to any other types.

I went and checked the map. I can see the blue line around the entire map. The lack of blue lines around the hindering and blocking terrain - as the boundary of the water would need to be drawn on the map - supports your answer.

Comparing it to the Iceberg Lounge (indoor) makes it clearer as it is obvious there that the center of the map is not water.
