Guys, I may be having a brain short circuit here but... How do we play relics now?
They aren't like errata'd are they? I cant find anything official. They are still special Objects but I can't find ANY mention of them in the rulebook and some don't seem say anything about equipping so... Could a character hold a relic AND be equipped with a Special Object now?
I know we used to not be able to do that before but. How does that work with the new rules?
You place up them 5 or more squares away from starting area to start the game and I would image they count toward your 3 Terrain Markers. When ANY character occupies the square that the relic is in they can take a POWER to roll a d6. If they succeed they place the relic on the characters card. When a character with a relic on their character card is defeated, place the relic in the square they last occupied. At the end of the game, if an opponent's character has the relic on their card or all of your characters have been defeated, victory points for the relic are scored by your opponent.
I know you can be equipped and have a relic on the same character, they are considered 2 completely different game elements now, so GLHF.
Wishing for competitive Judge Dredd figures for Modern Age...WizKids are you listening?!?!
Is the limit still one relic? What about the whole removal of the Light and Heavies? There are some special objects that were light or heavy. What are the limits on that?
Objects are typically represented by circular-based markers. Objects are small enough that any character can pick up, hold and use them when making an attack.
SUPER STRENGTH KNOCKBACK during close attacks. This character can pick up, hold and put down non-object terrain markers (excluding Smoke, Debris or Water markers.).
I don't recall a limit to only one relic per force.
Golden Age game elements aren't supported by Wizkids, so asking your judge in advance for a ruling would be in your best interests.

Relics are special objects. They are max 3, but each would be instead of a regular object.
Nearly all special objects are unique by dint of being a special object.

There wasn't, but for quite awhile all relics were Immobile, and at one point you had to have one light, one heavy, and one any type of object, so they were functionally one per force for awhile.

Well there were ways to get more than one relic on the map, but the rule was that one object could be anything (where the relic would fit in) and the 2nd and 3rd object had to be a light and heavy. Some special objects were considered light or heavy, so you could potentially have 3 special objects.
