Welcome lovers to the February Dial Design Contest! These are the general rules of the contest are simple:
Anyone can submit and/or cast votes during any of the three rounds. Each round features a new design parameter and participants have a week to complete, submit, and edit their single-dial (unless otherwise specified) entry right here in the thread, after which the community will vote on their favourite dials. At the end of the voting phase, the most votes win the round, and the most votes after three rounds wins the contest. Constructive comments are always welcome. Language not conducive to the current PAC (including updates from SMBA) may affect a judge's voting consideration, so please avoid use of retired terms and symbols. Character selection may come from any medium unless specified, but references for non-mainstream characters should be included. Please use the Dial Generator provided in the Units section.
As a meta rule, during voting phases, please do not quote entire dials when making comments, to make things easier to read.

Secret Scientist: The first time the Fin would be targeted by opposing Perplex or Outwit each turn, ignore it. Brutal Charge: Improved Movement: Ignores Characters. Charge, and if the Fin uses it when he occupies Water terrain, he may make a Close attack against every character he moved through.
I friggin' love Silver Sable and the Wild Pack. I think there's incredible potential in Silver Sable herself as a highly trained mercenary leader who's fighting to finance her country and keep it free while also being a regent and skilled diplomat. There's this incredible balancing act of fending off off foreign powers and keeping her countrymen from falling into civil war. I'm still bummed that Sony's movie with her, SILVER & BLACK, is apparently canceled.
That's why it's always kinda bummed me out that so few of the Wild Pack have ever been dialed. They feel like they'd be a nice sub-theme in a Spider-Man set, but understandably, there's usually something bigger, flashier, and more recent to get the TLC. Still, live in hope!
The Fin here is one of Sable's super-powered mercenaries, who's Namor on the outside, Hulk on the inside, and Banner inside of that. Evidently he's got a lot of depth, but he lets few people see it.

I adore Gundam, but the RX-93, the final suit piloted by original series protagonist, Amuro Ray, is hands down, no contest my favorite Mobile Suit. The design is classic Universal Century Gundam while still being distinct enough to stand out. The dark blue replacing the usual bright blue makes for a sleek look that I adore. Part of what makes the Nu Gundam unique is the large shield/wing built into it. This segmented shield can separate into smaller combat drones controlled by the Pilot through use of the special psionic cockpit built into the suit. The first half of the dial is standard Mobile suit fair. As for the back half, the final fight with Char got a little...
...personal. Jokes aside, I adore this mobile suit, and it was so fun to try and dial!
I've just started reading my 6th of the 12 novels written by Cormac McCarthy. Curiously, I don't love everything he wrote. In fact, I've disliked 2 and respected but been repulsed by a 3rd. With no strong opinion on the one I'm reading just yet, I can say that I loved both The Road and No Country For Old Men, to the point that I can't decide which I like more. It might actually be No Country.
I will write an essay if I don't stop myself, so:
I'm looking forward to Battlin' Sherlock's Calculated Strikes trait, and it got me thinking of other effects revolving around dice on the card.
He Ought To Know What's Coming: At the beginning of your turn, roll 2d6 and place them on Llewelyn Moss' card. Once per turn, anytime an attack roll is equal to the total result of the dice on his card, gain 1 MISSION POINT.
Sawed-Off Winchester: Energy Explosion. All hit targets are dealt KNOCKBACK from this attack, even if they are not damaged.

Something that we love? Welll behold "The Love of My Afterlife." The Chicago legend Resurrection Mary...I've been doing ghost tours in Chicago now for almost 10 years thanks to my fascination with this ghost...I used to drive my Great Great Uncle around the cemetery and we'd stop and visit family I never met, and when we got around the northwest end he'd say "Mary is down over this way."
Her dial is rather basic: Shes a ghost so she ignores characters and blocking for movement.
When she would meet someone at the Willowbrook / Oh Henry Ballroom she would ask for a ride after dancing the night away...so if a figure has Vehicle keyword can give Mary a ride.
Sometimes Mary wouldn't find a ride....so she would hitchhike down the rode...and if nobody stopped for her...she would jump in front of the cars causing drivers to slam on their breaks thinking they just hit Mary. Hence why Opposing characters need to stop for Mary.
When people met Mary in the Willowbrook / Oh Henry Ballroom they would dance with her, and while her hands were cold and when she looked at you, she looked through you, dancing with her would be like gliding on air and time would just fly by...hence Plasticity and Sidestep.

I think this is a pretty fun dial so far! I don't know much about the character, but I'd suggest taking a look at the recent 200-point beast dials like wov098 Ghost Rider, smba056 Spider-Man, av4e045 Hulk, etc. and see if the dial is a match for their value. Doesn't have to match their design paradigms, but it should give an approximately equal value to them.

Old Hag: Enemy characters adjacent to Rei Ayanami have their defense and damage values modified by -1. In any situation besides attacking where an enemy character rolls a D6, modify the result by -1.
Neon Genesis Evangelion is a fantastic story worthy of the praise it's received over the decades. Even for people who don't tend to enjoy anime or monster/mecha-centric stories, I can recommend it. I for one don't like too much anime, and I still love it greatly. In contrast though, I don't recommend it to everyone. It certainly has its peculiarities, but nothing morally abhorrent - at least, that it doesn't treat as abhorrent or wrong. If I saw it labeled as a 'horror' series, I wouldn't be surprised.
Gendo Ikari here is the father of the main protagonist, Shinji Ikari. He is an incredibly bad father and a horrific human being, but he's not boisterous, not loud about it. In his first appearance, it's revealed Gendo abandoned him after the death of his mother, roughly. Of course, they meet again later when Gendo needs Shinji to pilot the EVA mechsuit, for reasons I won't touch on here. Gendo doesn't apologize for his actions, and instead guilts his son into fighting the monster without any training.
His role in the series is something of a mystery, before you finish it. You aren't quite sure if he's an antagonist or a protagonist, and while the answer might be buried in that dial, watching the show and its ending movie for the whole story is an experience I wholeheartedly recommend, if you have the stomach for it.

Notes: Been OBSESSED with Persona 3 Reload. I grew up with Persona so this game series is very dear to my heart, when I started playing this game I literally started tearing up. The protagonist's name is chosen by the player at the beginning of the game but Makoto Yuki is his 'canon name' as dictated by the anime and crossover game adaptations that have come out over the years.
