Can a flying HSS character carry a figure while doing their attack? I have never used Amazo or OWAW in a game, so I never bothered finding this out...possible or no? Thanks.
StoneCold is incorrect. You can carry a figure while making a HSS drive-by attack. The passenger is considered off the board until the movement finally ends, which is AFTER the attack portion of a HSS attack. Even if you attack and decide not to move anymore, the movement portion ends after the attack, THEN the HSS figure places the passenger down. Since the passenger is off the board, you cannot use any ability they might have (like Enhancement).

In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.

So then what happens if during the attack, the HSS figure rolls a critical miss and loses HSS?

"HYPERSONIC SPEED: When using option 1 (the move action option) of Hypersonic Speed, team abilities that allow
characters to move without using one of your total allotment of actions may be used as well. If carrying a figure while using option 1, you must set that character down at the end of yourmovement."

It would be like Flurry. Your turn immediately ends and the figure you are carrying must be placed in an open adjacent space.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.

Amazo wants to make a close combat HSS attack (#1) while carrying a friendly figure. Amazo picks up the adjacent friendly figure, moves a few spaces while carrying the figure, makes his (close combat) attack roll once he's adjacent to his opponent, moves a few spaces more (away from the opponent he hit), and then finishes his movement and places his carried buddy down in an adjacent space.
This is correct, right?
I was forbidden from making such a maneuver at a tournament a few weeks ago. I was told that, at the moment of the attack roll I had to put the carried figure down and end my movement.
Please confirm that the above description is, in fact, correct.
If you are carrying the SHIELD member, obviously, you can't for 2 reasons. The main reason is that he is being carried, so isn't on the map at the time the attack happens. Same reason you can't carry an Enhancer and have them boost the ranged attack.
If the SHIELD member is sitting on the map, and the HSSer runs up to them and attacks, then yes, the SHIELD member can boost the damage from the attack.
