Hi again. I know it's legal to pick up an object when using charge (if the figure has super strength). Well I was talking with my friend of this option and question came up.
When you do charge the PAC says:
"Give this character a power action. Move this character up to half its speed value and then make one close combat action as a free action. While this power is showing on its dial, this
character is not affected by Force Blast and ignores knockback."
And on universe rule book on page 20 it says:
"Characters cannot pick up an object on the same turn they are given a close or ranged combat action."
Can you see the action word over there on both rules... Easy way to explain this problem is that when character is using charge he isn't doing close combat action at end of charge, it's 'free' close combat action.
Well, can someone explain this differently? It's just something that is bothering me.
The FAQ specifically states you can pick up objects during a charge or running shot.
I suspect the rulebook was supposed to mean that you cannot pick up an object at the same time as you are given a close/ranged combat action. That would be consistent with the rule that you need to be moving to pick up an object.
What they want to rule-out is a character standing in a square and attacking with an object in an adjacent square without moving. So if Hulk is standing next to Abomination, he can't take a swing with the dumpster sitting next to him. He needs move to pick up the dumpster first, and if he had charge, he could then "turn around" and smack Abomination.
In short, unfortunate wording but what else is new.
Well, it's third rule book so maybe it would be time to correct that old error...
It's just that I know that it's in FAQ, but would it be time to put it also in rulebook?
It's just stupid translate rulebook to other language, and say these rules are old, try from the FAQ...
But thanks for the answer!
