There were only a handful of characters with enhancement, why did they feel it nessasary to make the power worthless compared to perplex? In very rare instances (Using Energy explosion) Enhancment is "better" than perplex, But most of the time, perplex is always the better choice.
What was the change? I haven't used a lot of characters w/ Enhancement, but it still seems pretty viable. Perplex has always been the better power, anyhow.

Instead of adding +1 to Damage "Dealt" it adds +1 to damage "at any time".
And you can only use one Enhancer per attack.
So Annihilus (and any figure with multiple arrows) used to add +1 damage to each target per Enhancer, now it just adds +1 before the damage i s split (or to one target only after)

You can have more than one enhancer. A figure with the Enhance power can not Enhance a friendly figure more than once in turn. I believe this only affects Sentinels.
For example
Code:
CMC
PCP
M = magneto, P = psylocke (there are 2)
Magneto can have his ranged attack Enhanced by both Psylockes but if, for whatever reason, Magneto was able to make a second attack this turn, neither of the Psylockes could Enhance him.
(edit) and the FAQ says:
Quote
A character may not use Enhancement more than once on a given Ranged Combat Attack. Multiple characters
may use Enhancement on the same Ranged Combat Attack.
Enhancement can be used any number of times per turn, but can only pump any one attack only once.
More than one Enhancement can be used on the same figure if there is more than one figure with Enhancement is adjacent to the attacker. However, the Rule of 3 limits this.
can you use perplex with EE like you would with Enhancement? and do you really add it to total damage instead of +1 to each target hit?
No. Perplex cannot be used in the middle of an action. Therefore you would have to declare Perplex before declaring Energy Explosion. Once you declared Energy Explosion, the damage would be reduced to 1 - so you'd waste your Perplex.
Enhancement and SHIELD allow you to declare their use in the middle of an action - and thus they affect Energy Explosion.
Per WK's example from the FAQ:
A character with Energy Explosion targets characters A and C with a multiple-target Energy Explosion attack.
After the attack is declared, an adjacent friendly figure uses the Enhancement power on the attacker. The attack
roll hits characters A and C, and is higher than character B’s defense value as well. Characters A and C are
dealt 2 damage, as Energy Explosion reduced the attacker’s Damage Value to 1, and Enhancement increased
the Damage Value to 2. Character B is dealt 4 damage, 2 for each successful indirect hit, for a total of 4.
So Enhancement effects both Energy Explosion attacks - boosting each one by 1.
Hope that makes sense...
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
Unless I'm mistaken, they un-nerfed enhancement n the most recent faq. If you fire a non-exploding shot at two targets, each target hit gets the damage increased by one.
You are mistaken, Desmoney. Enhancement modifies the Damage Value. Think of it as a special purpose Perplex.
Here is the most recent FAQ text:
Quote
• A Damage Value increased by Enhancement may be used to attack objects and walls in a ranged combat attack.
• A character may not use Enhancement more than once on a given Ranged Combat Attack. Multiple characters may use Enhancement on the same Ranged Combat Attack.
• If Enhancement is used with a multiple-target attack, the Damage Value is modified before damage dealt is divided between successfully-hit targets.
As long as we're talking about splitting attacks....
If Blue Beetle, with a 1 damage, splits his attack and hits both of his targets, does he still do 1 damage to each target, or can he now only do 1 damage to 1 target, since the total damage value tends to be split between targets now?
