PSYCHIC BLAST

Ranged combat attacks made by this character ignore any power that reduces damage.

My question is why can't Mastermind be used against the Psychic-Blast? It doesn't reduce the damage, it redirects the attack to someone else. That damage isn't being reduced.

I tried to use Mastermind against a Psychic-Blast attack and I was told that I couldn't . Can someone explain why?

Mastermind will direct a PB attack to the flunky. Look at the last bullet in the FAQ under Mastermind. The recipient of the Masterminded damage take the effects of PB and Exploit Weakness.

xanth is correct the flunky would take the damage as if he got hit with the psy blast or ew .....

As Xanth inplied, yes, MM can be used to redirect a PB attack. PB (and EW) state that the damage cannot be reduced. MM does not reduce damage. Instead, it re-directs that damage to another character.

On a side note, Super Senses avoids attacks, so it too can be used against PB or EW.
