Spring Regional: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Why not use the feature, right? And I supposed I can use it to give my thoughts and feelings on the Spring Regional this past weekend.
The Good: I saw plenty of teams that one would never expect to see at this type of event. Just to start off with, the Legion of Doom team that Dax played in the Qualifier! In addition I saw some cutthroat teams (free-moving taxis with 3 Vipers using Armor Piercing), and some really interesting teams (E Moon Knight... nuff said). While the cutthroat teams were pretty severe, I came expecting that. I actually enjoy seeing those teams and getting a chance to play against them. It makes my level of play get better each time I face them. One of my favorites from the weekend had to be the Napoleon Dynamite team (Jimmy Olson as the man himself, Pie Face as his friend, and as many different Wolverines as he could fit into 300 points!). And finally playing in the Battle Royales with DS-0-00, FSD and some of his players (can't remember the realms names off-hand). I had a blast with the two we played in.
The Bad: GroovyBoy becoming the first person to kick DS-0-00, FSD in the junk -- we all joke about it, but dax and I agreed, that's just mean! He did execute quite the cunning rope-a-dope on him though. Although worse than this (which really wasn't that bad -- concidering I didn't take a shot to the junk) was the stink bomb that someone lit off towards the end of the night.
The Ugly: The three rather large, rather dead, rather raw squid that we on the ground outside the front door of the venue. I like sushi as much as the next guy, but come on! Also the use of an Indy and Hypertime booster for the Battle Royales. I can understand wanting to get rid of the old stock, and I know that there was no Legacy, but for the price of the events, it would have been nice to see something a bit more current. I still played in them, but I would have enjoyed something more recent a bit more.
Summary: Overall a great time. A lot of the players down there came with some great teams, and I didn't have a bad experience with any game I played down there. Best of all, I came home with my LE Polaris, and one for the other Judge at one of my venues who could not make it.
