tourney #1- 11/29/2005

I played at a local store that is infamous for it's incredibly low turn out rate. At first it looked like even the judge wouldn't show. So there I sat while a few people near me played Warhammer.

When the judge finally showed it was made clear to me that if nobody else showed, I would be given the prize for the day. Then one guy showed up holding a pack of mutant meyhem. It was then made apparent to me that that was what he was using to carry his team. Needless to say I didn't expect him to whip out any KC figs.

The rules of the tourney were simple. One on one with pack boy and best two out of three. No BF conditions allowed and a 400 point roof over our heads.10 rounds were the limit of play. He scattered some rookies and very few vets on the table and got to work.

The teams we used are as follows....

ME:

U Icons Flash - ICWO - Armor piercing - swingline
V Hypertime Flash - ICOW - Armor piercing - swingline
V Kid Flash - ICOW - swing line

HIM:

V Legacy Batman
V FForces Ghost Rider
Collene Wing pog = which e asked me to borrow
E songbird
V Punisher
V A.I.M medic

Needless to say I was a little less then unimpressed. He was on of those guys that forgets what you just told him and claims that "you never said that". For example: "Alright Im gonna give Flash an action for a hypersonic speed attack and increase his attack with ICOW.....okay I need a 7 or better to hit. BOOYEAH!!! Got it!". "Wait no you need a 8 to hit. Cause your attack and the roll only make a 17 so you miss my 18". And so on and so forth.

The two rounds flew by.....

With swingline on the board the flash family become on par with any heavy hitter out there. One could also (with three flashes) knock V Icons Supes out of his hypersonic in one turn; stranding him in the middle of the board.

We each got an LE from Icons, since I won I was given the choice between Gar Logan and Princess Komand'r. Since I won gar last week I took the female and ran.

Now I know she isn't great, but played correctly I think she could be a force to be reconed with.

Well that's it for today, I'm looking foreward to the $21 Armor Wars booster draft on Sunday. I will be bringing a pad and paper to record the names and teams to give a FULL play by play..
