Hello everyone, I'm Stormfang. If you've ever spent anytime in the chatroom at night then you've probably seen me there.
Lets throw out a few facts about me. I primarily play Marvel. I don't have anything against DC clicks, but I grew up reading Marvel comics and I know very little about DC and feel little attachment to the characters. To each his own, eh? I do own a handful of DC clix however, some being just too playable to pass up. In fact I never bought a DC booster until Legacy was released, and the only reason I bought the 6 boosters that I did was for 2 different sealed tournaments at my venue.
But back to me, I collect X-Men primarily. I'm only 2 figures away from having every X-Men figure made (those 2 being LE Bobby Drake and U Mimic). I did need MM LE Logan as well, but thankfully Pilzbury32 sent me one (thanks again Pilz)!
Now lets talk Moonstar. I'm sure seeing an X-Men figure for the first preview made a lot of people mad. I just don't get all the mutant hating that goes on here. I guess some people are upset that their team didnt get the attention that the X-Men got.
Moonstar has lots of potential. First of all, Flying Transporter! You gotta love that. Tack on a Double Time and you can carry another figure either 16 or 20 squares. Talk about taking the battle to your enemy! Considering that you can "lead" with the rear part of the figure, you can drop a friendly figure up to 22 squares away. If you play it right you can hold back and drop your brick next to your opponents big gun either when he has an action token or pushed.
So what els can she do? Running Shot and Psychic Blast are always welcome addtions, especially on a flyer. Many people are scoffing at her built in move/attack option since her AV drops and she can't use PB, but when used in conjuction with soaring it can really be quite powerful. When she's not Transporting, keep her in soaring drop down for an attack then get back to the safety of soaring. I'm thinking she has a lot more possibilities than people are giving her credit for.
I was really hoping there would be a Flying Transporter in FF, and then to find out not only is there on but she's an X-Man too just sealed the deal for me. This will definitely be my first case to buy.
