Halo ActionClix Vehicle Rules: M12 Warthog LRV (Reach Edition)
Posted 07/09/2014 at 03:40 by eMouse
Changes for HeroClix are noted in red.
Note that power colors on the dial do not normally correspond to standard HeroClix powers. All powers are described below, giving the original text on the character card, and the alternate HeroClix rules text.
If the HeroClix rules text says "Treat as", then consider that power to be a standard power of the appropriate color, otherwise it's a special power.
This version of the Warthog is distinguishable from the original version by its dials (Overheat dial instead of a Risk dial), and paint application (Spartans in it are in red, gunmetal and black).
#V001 M12 Warthog LRV
Range: 10
Points: 300
Combat Dial
Combat Dial: Begins game at green line (1 health). See scenario rules. (The starting click is labeled as '1' on the dial, but is the 4th click, with U3, U2, and U1 preceding it.)
● Recon: Friendly units within four squares deal +1 damage. (Friendly characters within four squares modify their damage value by +1.)
Continuous Fire: When this unit succeeds at a shot, it may attack another unit after damage is dealt. If it does, before making the attack, increase the Overheat dial by one click and apply any modifiers showing on the Overheat dial. If the all black click is showing, no further ranged combat attacks can be made. This ability may be used more than once each turn. (When M12 Warthog LRV hits an opposing character with a ranged combat attack, after actions resolve it may be given a free action to make a ranged combat attack targeting a character it hasn't attacked this turn. If it does, turn the Overheat dial by one click. This power may be used more than once each turn.)
●/● Hardened Vehicle Armor: Reduce damage dealt to this unit by 2. (Treat as Invulnerability.)
● Vehicle Armor: Reduce damage dealt to this unit by 1. (Treat as Toughness.)
Overheat Dial
Risk Dial: Begins game at green line (click 1). See scenario rules.
● Trample: See scenario rules. (M12 Warthog LRV can use Ram. When it uses Ram and it passes through a square occupied by an opposing character, immediately place that character in a square within 3 squares and line of fire of its current square, then complete M12 Warthog LRV's movement. M12 Warthog LRV's damage value when using Ram is 4 and locked.)
Combat Symbols
The M12 Warthog LRV possesses , , , . It has a passenger capacity of 1.
Special Pilot Rules
The M12 Warthog LRV is considered to be a Piloted Vehicle, however the vehicle is not considered to be a part of any player's team when it doesn't have a pilot. A character can be given a free action to become a pilot of an M12 Warthog LRV if it's friendly or neutral to that character. An M12 Warthog LRV is considered to be friendly if it has at least one friendly pilot.
The M12 Warthog LRV can have up to two pilots: a driver and a gunner. When becoming a pilot, place the character on the 'Combat Dial' card to indicate the character is a driver, or the 'Risk Dial' card to indicate the character is a gunner. The Warthog may be assigned non-free actions on the turn a character becomes a pilot, but only if it has a pilot who was a pilot since prior to the current turn, and only actions appropriate to that pilot type.
The type of actions that can be assigned to the M12 Warthog LRV depends on its pilots. It can only be assigned move actions if it has a driver, and can only be assigned ranged attack actions if it has a gunner. When assigning those actions, the action can be assigned to the Warthog or the appropriate driver. The action token may be assigned to the Warthog or to the appropriate pilot.
Overheat Dial
Modifiers on the Overheat dial only apply to ranged combat attacks made by the Warthog. At the beginning of the gunner's turn, turn the Overheat Dial back to click 1.
Additional Rules
The M12 Warthog LRV is considered an Ultra Heavy Object when not occupied by any pilots. If the M12 Warthog LRV becomes a piloted while another character is occupying the same square as the Warthog, place that character into a square of the controller's choosing that's adjacent to the Warthog.
The all-black click on the combat dial indicates 'KO'.
Pilot Ability: UNSC Standard Issue: Prerequisites: UNSC Team Ability. When a character with this prerequisite becomes a pilot, heal the Warthog of 1 damage. It may heal past its starting line as a result of this healing. If this pilot ejects, deal the Warthog 1 unavoidable damage if it is above its starting line (indicated by U1, U2, and U3 on the Combat Dial). This combat ability combines with Spartan Vehicle Training.
