So there hasn't been any blog for a little while. Each round we have only been seeing one or two actual games playing and it was looking to be more effort to put a blog together in the previous format than the games. However the rounds have all just been a nice, long formality to get us ready for where the real action is about to happen - the finals!

The First Royal Rumble
Inspired by both the Battle Royale format, Draft formats in general and the fact there is official WWE Heroclix items I wanted to get my own take of a game mode going - Royal Rumble.
Being the first Royal Rumble the decision was made to use it as a platform to get some of the latest set at the time, Marvel Studios Disney+, into our hands to.
Although these have now been adapted to reduce how long it takes to play (in that players get less figures to use - this took nearly 5 hours over 4 different sessions) this was the original format of the Royal Rumble as we had played this iteration;
-----------------------------------------
All participants receive a single 5-Figure booster that is drafted around. So you pick one figure from your pack, pass it to the player to your right and receive a pack missing one figure from the player to your left, take another figure, pass on, take a figure from what is left, repeat until you have 5 figures from (likely) 5 different boosters.
It is a multiplayer game on one map. All players start with one figure of their choice from the 5 selected. Players each take a single costed action turn (including any free actions for the same character only). Clearing occurs as normal when relevant. If a character is knocked out then the player who controls that KO'd character can bring in a new character. If 2 full turns (all players having a turn) occur without a KO "the bell is rung" and a player is chosen at random to bring in a character.
Play continues until only one player is the only player with a figure/s left standing. Of the remaining characters, if not a single character, the character that gains the most points through KOs will win the Royal Rumble. Where there are more than one character left in play at the end of the Royal Rumble that have not achieved any points through KOs or are tied for points, the owner of all characters currently in play may select the winning character of the Royal Rumble.
The winner of the Royal Rumble will receive a mini WWE Heavy Weight Championship belt. The belt is not permanently owned by the winner as it will change hands to a different figure/owner as necessary as a result of future Royal Rumbles. The belt must stay on premises at all times. It is highly encouraged to retire the winning figure of the Royal Rumble to be displayed with the belt around the base of the character. It is also highly encourage to flaunt title ownership as often as you need or feel a desire to.

Through alot of luck (and saving MSDP036 Sylvie as my second last character) I was able to take the win for our first Royal Rumble with...
2022 Australian Heroclix Nationals
After only having played the last several months at work and a few casual games at home with my 9 year old son I decided it was time to finally get out for an in-store game. Why not have that first public game as Heroclix Nationals?
I formed a team with a few of the guys from work (Artorias, Awfulfilly149 and Sammeh1993 - Sammeh1993 unfortunately couldn't attend) and my son (Xavachu) and put together a playbook for all of us and we have been practicing and discussing the last few months as Team Blades/Claws/Fangs.
We did really well, with myself and Awfulfilly149 making it to Top 8 but losing our games. I officially came in 7th, Awfulfilly149 in 8th. Artorias just missed out on Top 8 by placing 9th and my son placed 14th.
Was pretty happy to run a team that I thought was fun more than trying to follow the meta and had a great time!
And won some great promos as well...
