That's a good one.

Or a Howard the Duck, but I could get one for Friday maybe.
I guess I didn't really explain my strategy either way.

Valkyrie I'm going to use for her 12 movement transporter move and attack and keep her behind Clea and Gargoyle.
Clea will have 20 defense and Gargoyle will have 18 and Toughness with PC.
The Valkyrie will Support if anyone gets hit down at all since they change their Defense for easy healing.

Or I'll just not use her and they'll be a little more offensive...which is a little strange for the DEFENDers.

Howard the Duck though...seems like a strong choice...he could give me close combat options...but Mercenary is retired...and not enough points anyways...ofcourse the room for Alias or Monster Hunter on Valkyrie could be a big help.

Why would you need Mercenary? Howard's Stealth will keep him relatively protected... besides, even though he gets Flurry later on, he is still mostly a support piece (and absolutely fantastic with Contingency Plan); I wouldn't put him anywhere near the front lines unless you absolutely had to tie someone up.

Because I think he'd be of the most use to me on his second or third click.
Especially with Merc.

AFAIK Mercenary is still legal. Came out in Origin, which has not been retired yet...

Only 2.0 is legal at my venue.
I don't know if it's supposed to be that way or not...but that's the rule.
Which means no Mental Shields, Merc or some of my other favourite BFCs.

What's their justification for that? Cause man, that would cheese me off.

I don't, that's just what the rule was.
It's alright I guess...there's a lot of new players so maybe it evens everything out a bit?

You could also put on Hellcat @ 38 points or her LE for 37, or R for 26. E XP Icemen at 36 or his LE at 35, R is 26 and Howard the Duck for 35. all Defenders Keyword. E Iceman, and the V/LE Hellcat have the Defenders TA on them.

But all of those, except Howard, are retired.
