Your story reminded me of the first time I got a KC Green Lantern:

It was right before the release of Armor Wars. I was making a trade with a guy on the WK Trading Forums. This guy really wanted the Ultimates Iron Man before AW came out. I'd just gotten one of of e-Bay for $9.99 + shipping, and I had another one that I bought from my buddies comic shop for $20.00.This guy was offering his extra KC GL straight up for Iron Man, so I jumped all over it. He said it was MIP too boot. Iron Man was averaging about $25.00 at that time, but Green Lantern was about $50.00 or so (hasn't changed much since ) I had more trade references than him, so I asked him to send first.

It was coming from Great Britain, so I knew it would take a few weeks, so I waited.......and waited......and waited. After about 3 weeks, still no package. In the mean time, we'd been communicating back and forth. He'd sent it Royal Airmail with tracking, so we checked the tracking number to see where it was: Arrived in Canada was the only information. So I continued to wait, and wait, and wait. Finally, after 2.5 months of waiting,......nothing. I felt really bad for the guy, so I PMd him and told him that I'd just send the Ultimates Iron Man, because it wasn't his fault the package hadn't arrived yet. Off Iron Man went.

A couple of days later, a package arrived to me. It literally looked like it had been to Iraq and back, It was mangled, and beaten up. Partially crushed, torn and dirty. Inside was the KC Green Lantern !!! He was OK (a little bent over, but otherwise fine) 20 with Willpower FTW !!!!

i have received from both the toilet paper tube and tupperware senders. not a problem. the weird one was when i ordered twelve cuckoos (from a reputable retailer, no less) and they showed up in a padded envelope crushed. not off of their bases, just all laying down or doing the limbo.

i also received an extra fig with a trade. one of mine was missing. it was supposed to go to someone else. i contacted the trader, told him about it and offered to send it back or on to the rightful owner. he not only told me not to worry about it, but sent me my missing fig and some extras to boot. by the way the extra fig was a superman robot... wow!
