Captain America's Shield is not a Special Object, neither is Foom's Finger. The Shield is a standard Light Object and Foom's Finger is a standard Heavy Object.
You might be thinking of the special object that can be removed from #40 Peanut Cap, but that is a different item
Oh! Good to know... these came out while I was out of the game and I was always told they were special objects (and their set number reflected that) that were treated as standard objects. I have never seen a card for those so I never questioned it, but I just looked them up in the Units section and the Shield (with the "gear" symbol) says, "This object is not a special object - it's a standard light object."
Huh... you learn something new every day.

That's what I was thinking, too... now I'm curious to ask if these items ever had cards associated with them or if that was just "general knowledge" at the time.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????

No cards were ever printed by the company for any of the three objects.
They all had lines in the player's guide indicating what they were.
Until just now I had no idea that they'd ever been given P&P cards on the website.
The gear symbol on the P&P cards should really not be there. With it there, you have a major inconsistency as it basically makes it so that those are both standard and special objects simultaneously.
Foom's Finger and Cap's Shield TECHNICALLY didn't come with cards. neither did the SIlver Mjolnir.

Good to know.
So did they give any official statement with the release or a post somewhere? Before today, I've never seen anything in writing saying they were special, not special, heavy, or light... just word of mouth that explained them. :-s

Are you asking the guy who just said he'd never heard of these electronic P&P cards before just now if there had been an announcement about them?

Like I said, they had been documented in the PG for a long time.

I was asking the group as a whole.

Yeah, I know you said it was in the PG, I just wasn't sure if it was stated before that (eg. in the OP Kit when they came) or if players had to read it online, hear about it, or guess like the TW underwater map.

Think of them as Special Objects with the special game effect that they are standard objects.
It's the same kind of double think that maintains that "When a character using the Mystics team ability takes damage from an attack, the attacker is dealt 1 unavoidable damage. This damage is not an attack." and "When a character using the Crossgen team ability takes damage from an attack, the attacker is dealt 1 unavoidable damage. This damage is not an attack." are in fact two completely different game effects.
Yoda of Borg, we are: Futile, resistance is. Assimilate you, we will.

I didn't keep the OP kit directions (if anyone does save the old ones, this was the Captain America set we're talking about). But, yes, I seem to recall they said that these were simply standard objects.
