I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I've stepped away from Clix before and, at present, I can't come up with a good reason for why I haven't presently.

At my LGS, the guy behind the counter made some comment about how X-wing was a better game than Clix when we were all in line to buy our boosters for a sealed event, and he was expecting a "Oh, no; he di'n't!" moment. (He's a former Marine, and a hockey fan, so we go back and forth a bit.) All the Clix players agreed with him and it took him totally by surprise.

Good for you for waiting for Armada. Personally, scale (or SOME semblance of it) is a big deal to me, so it's not for me. But I'm glad they're making a game that's more about the aspects that you like. I hope it's as well balanced as X-wing.

I'm concerned about anyone who say that and didn't, at the very least, have some serious questions about it's veracity.

You should swing by the FFG X-wing boards. There's some fairly entertaining nerd-rage. I'm both entertained and observing, and somewhat play-acting participating.

EDIT: I also went off on Star Wars Rebels on those boards and got called racist for my troubles and you know my day's just not complete without that.

Other than the racist accusation I find it to be toned-down in comparison to HCRealms.

I'm going to have to use various synonyms for "leave" and see if that's actually true.
