Looks like the Rockets will get Ron Artest. There's some risk for next season, but adding such a great defensive player to an already great defensive team, along with his versitile offence could spell CHAMPIONSHIP.

Things are looking good for Houston! First Barry, now Artest.

We will see if they can get passed the first round.. I notice they got Kings are getting Donte Greene from this trade. He dropped 40 pts in the summer league.

:shrug: Nate Robinson has also been a dominate Summer League player. I'll wait on seeing him against the regular season competition before I'm sold on him. Still 40 points is pretty good.

Nate will have some serious playing time if they cut Marbury and I serious doubt there going to start Duhon.

yeah I just read it on yahoo.. it was from a spanish newspaper I think, the question was I think "Do you think Kobe is the best player in the world?" His response was something along the lines that he(pierce) was the best player in the world and there was a line between confidence and cockiness and he hadnt crossed that yet

The more I think about it, the more excited I become about Artest joining the Rockets. Despite the attempt by the media to manufacture controversy betweeen Yao and Artest, I think he will be a perfect fit in Houston. Artest goes way back with Alston and Battier, loves Rick Adelman, and seemingly greatly respects McGrady and Yao. The nice guys will rub off on Artest and some of Artest's toughness can rub off on the rest of the team.

Heck, I'm starting to fantasize about a Rockets-Celtics Finals where we avenge our 80s Finals losses to Boston. Premature, of course, but still tantalizing!

While I fantasize about cheering for a team that could actually not suck and make the playoffs.

Which without massive trades happening...will remain just that, a fantasy.

You know, despite the old Rockets-Knicks rivalry, I always respected the Knicks as a great, hard-nosed team. Even I'm somewhat bummed that apparently the franchise has sunk so low.

I guess the Knicks didn't get anything good in the draft, even to use as trade-fodder?
