Stormrider :
Read the Shockwave ability again.
Half his range, any friendly or opposing figure within his area of attack. He cannot attack himself and although there is no target, it is still an attack.
Feel free to request clarification, but logically Stormwall has an area of effect, this affects the wielder as he is within 12" of himself, so Rava cannot bound on the turn he uses it.
I think 0" - 12" inclusive kind of fits the bill :)
Think of it in terms of Bombardment, a figure being on the centre spot of the token at resolution time would not prevent it from taking the damage !
SeedCake: Don't start trying to wind things up
Being 0" away from a figure is defined as being in base contact with them.
In terms of Bombardment, the figure would still be in base contact with the token. And why would anyone place the token on a figure?... and if it drifts... the odds that it will end up directly under another figure are slim to none.

As it happens, Centre dot to Centre dot is approx 1.5" distant when in base contact, which isn't too relevant to the discussion we were having.
Point I was making was that Shockwave draws a line of attack from the figure (I am aware that it is now a special action but you need to read the wording of its definition) to any within its range X 0.5, whereas Stormwall is a blanket area without the need to draw lines of fire.
So, since a figure cannot attack itself, Shockwave could not harm the figure using it despite them being in range. However, if you look at Stormwall as an umbrella, you'll notice that if he shoots through it he'll let the rain in :D
This is how I would rule in one of my tournaments, I'll send Paul an email and see what he says, his ruling will settle it.

Actually, that happened just this past Thursday in a Blood on the Water Tourney I played. One of my Atlantian figures was the *** Mortar Altem. Several occasions I placed the token directly under my opponent. On one occassional I took a chance at what the drift direction might be and placed a token the drift distance away from my opponent. Sure enough I missed the bombardment token but the drift direction was spot on. It drifted exactly under the figure that was the primary target. Unfortunately, I missed the attack roll.
That's one of the interesting aspects of bombardment ... it's very unpredictable and therefore, I find it best used as harrassment only.

If it ended up dead centre you still get the hit, even though you're at 0" range.
I didn't miss the point, I know the ruling on it. I was making an analogy. Bombardment is a fantastic ability as i've noticed in my games. If you know how to play it right, you can make your opponent think a lot..... because they COULD move this way.... but if the Bombardment token drifts in that direction.... they're screwed..... yet they don't know exactly what I have planned :) Gotta love Scattershot. Anyway... back on topic.

An analogy ?
Anyway ...
I also like bombardment, it's a fun SA.
Still doesn't clear up the Rava/Stormwall question, I've opened it up with a post on the rules question and we'll see what others think while we wait for Paul to get back to me on it.
