I much prefure the Beast of Talwar over summoned skull, better defense, cooler picture, and it is my favorite card.
Are there any light fiend monsters. I am running an rfp deck and i have freed and chaos sorcerer in my deck and i dont really want to stray to far from fiends. So if i can find some decent light fiend monsters it would help.
theban night (i think thats what it is called) is a light fiend, and it is pretty good.

Thebian and Desrook are the only two light Fiends.
Woohoo, Archfiends still rock! I was playing against a post-ban stall deck today that I lost to yesterday after a 1-2 match. Anyway, I made some changes, taking out my Last Wills and adding some cards like Giant Trunade and finally got myself to use Dark Bishop to negate a lot of his targetting effects, including Swarm of Scarabs. The first game he got me into a lock really early, but I just Giant Trunade, attacked directly with three monsters, then Curse Sealed and Magic Drained his Level Limit and Messenger of Peace, and when he set Gravity Bind and activated it next turn I chained with a Dust Tornado. Second duel I resorted to using mostly Pawns and Rooks instead of my Knights and Soldiers. Since they could attack under gravity bind and none of his monsters had higher than 1000 defense, I was able to quickly break through and win. After the match, we decided to go for one more duel before our next class, and he was able to beat me, after stalling with spirit reaper and having to resort to Inaba White Rabbit because nothing else he had could get to me, and he just happened to put it into his deck as a last second spur of the moment. Lucky him. I have about 10 targetting cards in my deck that I could have used to get rid of Spirit Reaper, but after using 3, I drew none, and later checking, I would have gotten a Book of Moon in 5 more turns to stop his Inaba and destroy it during my turn.
Anyway, this shows that even with three of each of those stall cards you can still win. I also noticed something during the duels, and that was the fact that all decks that use stall need to draw their stall cards. What I did was make him use up a lot of his cards quickly, to the point where he was either down to one or two cards that wouldn't help him (first duel) or out right top decking (second duel). You can't stall if you can't draw your stall cards fast enough. This has also made me certain that I only need 1 MST, 2 Dust Tornados, and 1-2 Giant Trunades (one side-decked). The best part about this was that when I first started making my Archfiend deck after some of my cards had been stolen, this was my original line up for Spell and Trap removal, so I wasn't too far off.
Anyway, the point in this is that you don't have to worry about stall ruling all over. As long as you play your deck right you shouldn't have problems.
Also, to go with the Shadowknight discussion, I use two Shadowknight's in my deck and that works for me. In the future I may sub them out for some tribute monsters, but right now I like them. First of all, I like his attack. The same as Terrorking's attack, although he's better at taking out any monster that just feels like bothering you and you don't feel like giving it the dignity of a Terrorking attack. Second, his defense does come in handy. If someone plays Smashing Ground, he's automatically destroyed as he's the highest defesne Archfiend just under Desrook Archfiend and I think Beast of Talwar also. That right there protects Terrorking so you don't have to go out and waste a Desrook. As for his cons, 900 life points isn't much of a problem for me with Pandemonium out, and I protect it too with Curse of Royal which has the added effect of also being able to destroy certain monsters, and as for his roll effect, here's my take on it: If you depend on the dice roll to win a game, then you shouldn't be running Archfiends in the first place. I play with them for their effects, and because they're fiends, but they also stray off the beaten path somewhat, which suits my personality. But if you play for their dice roll effect, it's going to be pretty hard. To tell you the truth, I've only gotten the roll to work for me once in the last two months, and that once was just today with Dark Bishop. Whenever I forget my dice, I usually play just ignoring the dice roll. Don't play the Archfiends just because how they block against other decks, but play them for how they can attack, and the only cards that people commonly use that can destroy the trusty Knight are Beserk Gorilla (by suicide might I add), Goblin Attack Force, and a shout out to Giant Orc which I'm surprised doesn't see more play.
Anyway, I'm done for now and I'm going to go back to my play testing. I still need a Ceasefire in my deck and I'm still thinking about comboing it with Needle Ceiling or not, as I'm not sure if I need another monster destruction card. And I'm wondering if I should try Snatch Steal or not. I've been playing with two Falling Downs and no Change of Heart, and I rarely have a time where I can't use Falling Down because of lack of Archfiends (and no, I have not been using it with Axe of Despair mainly because I've only drawn it once in the last two months, and that was against that burn deck I faced today so it was useless against Messenger of Peace. I can't believe I forgot to side deck it out but I won't forget next time.)
Anyway, in closing, I wonder if Waldo did Giant Orc yet on his fiend analysis, although I highly doubt he forgot about it. Well, I'm done for now, and I'll talk to you guys later, Prolink out.
Nice rundown on Archfiends there Prolink. I'll be debuting my Archfiend deck tomorrow, testing it with some friends in the afternoon. Currently I don't run a DarkBishop or any Cursed Seals, I'm trying to figure out where to put them. I personally don't really like Dust Tornado, I'd rather use Magic Jammers etc and some Curse of Royal, and of course, Judgement of Anubis. My goal is to make them afraid to destroy Pandamonium.
I'm running about 2 of each Desrook, Terrorking, etc., and had a quick question on Infernal Queen: Can she boost up herself, basically making her a 1900 attacker?
I'm also going to experiment with Ectoplasmer/Malice Doll of Demise for more monster removal.
If anyone's interested I posted the deck a few pages back in this thread, and it's somewhere buring in the deck depot also.
Infernalqueen is an archfiend herself so she's a candidate for her own effect.
Ectoplasmer/Malice Doll really IS good monster removal. They keep losing monsters while you keep tributing the same one. Make sure you pack in some Hallowed Life Barrier. Coffin Seller isn't famous but I certainly like it.

You know, this reminds me of a Fiendishly clever set of Rulings Questions that someone once started making for non judges, to sharpen their skills. What was it: Coffin Seller, Dark Room of Nightmare, Robbin Goblin, and Robbin Zombie all on a chain???
I wonder whatever happened to that person and their questions?
(those were the days! Back when my sig still read "Yes, I am stpid")
As for the Ectoplasmer/Malice Doll combo, I wonder how long you could keep that combo up until you drew End of Anubis and just pounded them?
I would like to run a deck around Ectoplasmar and its counterpart, but I am fresh out of ideas. Could anyone give me an example of what to run? Thanx alot ^_^

Let's see. While it looks like whenever one your opponent's monsters gets sent to the Graveyard he/she gets 600 points of damage, loses a card from his/her hand and off the top of the deck, the "Robbin'" cards both state that it has to be a monster card that inflicts the damage. ( :cross-eye That's a bit of a run-on sentence, eh?) Now, if you attack and destroy your opponent's attack position monster, Robbin Goblin activates, Robbin Zombie activates, and then Coffin Seller activates at least once. (If Robbin Goblin or Zombie happen upon a monster Coffin Seller will activate again.)
Quick question guys. It's about Falling Down. The effect reads that it is immediatly destroyed when it is activated on the field and you have no Archfiends on the field, but does the fact that it targeted something, like Spirit Reaper (well basically, it's all about Spirit Reaper) still be destroyed? I'm not sure, the way I understand it, it can go either way, so I would like it if one of you guys could make sure for me.
Anyway, I ran against that same burn deck today and did even better than I did yesterday without switching any cards this time. I guess this means I'm becoming a better duelist, eh?
i think that spirit reaper would be destroyed because i think that the effect of falling down happens after it has resolved and it would be destroyed right then.
since it would have targetted spirit reaper by now, i think reaper would be destroyed.
but i think you need a second opinion on this....
EDIT: the netrep ruling says:
Quote
You can activate "Falling Down" when there are no Archfiends on your side of the field, but it is destroyed immediately before it is equipped to a monster.
i think this means that it would never be able to target spirit reaper, but it is kinda ambiguous.
Infernalqueen is an archfiend herself so she's a candidate for her own effect.

Thanks, Waldo...I tested out my Archfiends today, as well as my Morph, and the Archfiends did better overall which surprised me. Though the morph worked well as well.
However I didn't use the Ectoplasmer/Malice Doll combo, I just needed different cards. But now with 3 Axe of Despairs, I might try it out again...
Bistro Butcher: One of the early 1800 attackers after La Jinn(expect any less from feinds?). It's effect makes your opponent draw 2 cards which is very bad unless combined with some other card(s). It can prove to be useful in deck destruction decks, or in combo with Bubble Crash or even Heavy Slump/appropriate
Ryu-Kishin: One of the coolest looking monsters ever!
Witty Phantom (1st edition): Dressed in a night-black tuxedo, this creature presides over death....awesome description
Uh, I was wondering what cards to use in a deck based around Ectoplasmar and Malice Doll of Dark Demise. I have a few ideas, but I decided to go to the fiend experts on this one (Waldo, Pyrofire, Squid, everyone else ^_^)
Well, you're going to need some help getting those cards up to you ASAP, so I believe the "Fiend Fruit" Mystic Tomato could help with that. I'd say a Big Eye or two can help you get those Ecotoplasmar's up to the top of your hand a bit faster. Maybe run some extra "stalling" with Newdoria to keep the numbers low, and hopefully that will get you up to par when the plasmars and dolls start kicking in. Granted I'm thinking Type-2 (Post Ban) cards, you could use some Witch/Sangans to help out too.
As for Bistro Butcher, Protector of the Sanctuary would make a nice backup to the slicing and dicing.
That sounds good. I will build this deck later, but I'll search for the supplies now. The funny thing is right now I am running a Mucus Yolk Deck. Funny, isn't it? It's not doing too bad, either ^_^
Anyway, could someone give me sort of an example of what a Malice Ecto deck should look like? I could use the help. Thanx, all ^_^
