Speaking of, chalk me up to the minority of people who really didn't like Mad Max: Fury Road. I could appreciate the stunt work, but man, that movie just left me empty. Certianly did not understand all the love it got.
"Why would the possibility of me being wrong ever stop me from doing something?"
The soft murmur of the crowd fell along with the house lights. A camera panned over the crowd catching glimpses of all the stars before settling on the main stage. The lights go up, and...
Nobody has been lynched! Night 1 starts now. You have 24 hours.
… out on the stage walks a man in a tuxedo. Simple, but sharp. “Good evening everybody, and welcome to the Oscars! I’m here to make all you voting folks feel better about yourselves."
The camera pans across the room. Genuine laughter from some tables, nervous fake-laughter from others. A strong man in military attire walks along the back wall, headed purposefully towards something.
“But really, it’s good to be here tonight. Glad everybody who isn’t boycotting made it safe. I know Trump’s been on a roll recently, so I was worried this little guy wasn’t gonna be here!”
Cut to a young boy, beaming with excitement. More laughter.
Meanwhile, as the man onstage continues, the military man has been stopped by a pair of policemen. They look at a young girl, who nods, and they begin escorting him towards the door as he protests. Along the way, however, they encounter a young, gentle woman. She speaks softly to them, resting her hand lightly on the military man’s shoulder. Shrugging, the policemen unhand him and melt back into the background.

Curious about this as well. Assuming the host is referring to an immigrant given the Trump joke. Don't think any of the actor nominees fit the bill... maybe Sanjay? (main character from best animated short nominee Sanjay's Super Team)
