i dont get HSS with the Option with you may attack as many times as you want but the fig your attacking get +1 def. i get this much but i dont understand what they mean about your damage gets plus one each time you hit em'(ex. shazam attacks lets say black panther, he hits him, so he takes 1 click of damage, then you attack agin so thats 3+1=4 damage total?)
if im wrong please correct me and then tell me what would happen with a perplex on hand?
Under the new ruling, it goes as follows. When you opt for that option, you HSS character's damage value is reduced to 1. If the attack is sucessful, then the opposing figure's Defense gets +1, as well as your character's damage value, so it's damage value would then be 2. This process repeats itself until you miss or you want to stop. However, since the Rule of Three, your character's damage value can only go up to a 4. The last part of the option states that the damage dealt to opponent is your character's damage value, so you can only do 4 damage.
To address the perplex, I don't know how you're using it. You could perplex your character's damage value up, but it drops to 1 anyway so that's pointless. You could, however, perplex the oponent's defense down, subject to the Rule of Three ofcourse.
The way it works is, if you are adjacent to an enemy figure, you can either just hit them, or you can opt to do the option 2, which is the hypersonic attack. What you do, is you reduce your damage to 1. Then, you roll to hit his defense. if you are successful, you can elect to attack again, only you increase his defense by +1. You can continue to do this up until you either miss, or when his defense is at +3, since the rule of 3 will still apply. So, in theory, shazam could declare a HSS attack, and roll versus a 14 defense. So, his first roll is is 5, so 5+Shazam's 10 attack makes 15, a successful hit. He next needs to hit a 14+1 defense, so 15. He rolls a 7, which makes 17, and a successful hit. He then has to hit a 16, and rolls a 5, which is 15, and a miss. So you add up the number of successful attacks, in this case 2, and since his damage is reduced to 1 for each attack, then he will deal 2 damage tp the target
Hope that helps. Although I will say with Shazam, you are better off doing your natural 4 attack instead of the attack option of HSS.
Lead me not into temptation, just point me in the general direction and I'll find it myself.
