Batgirl #52 - Batgirl needs some help from the new Robin in tracking down some illegal weapons. Turns out Penguin is using kids to carry the weapons. Steph and Cass beat his ###.
Batman #629 - Batman starts to seriously freak out from the fear gas. Robin (Tim) comes to his resque but Batman sees the long dead Jason Todd instead and attacks! After nearly wrecking the Batmoble Batman is KOed and Tim and Alfred patch him up. Just when Bruce is getting over the gas the Scarecrow monster busts into the mansion!
Harley/Ivy #3 - The duo decide to run a Holllywood film and smik money off the top until Harley decides she wants to make her master piece! Batman catches wind and defeats them but it turns out the Harley/Ivy movie is a big hit!
Green Lantern #178 - Kyle vs Fatality. She whips his butt. He escapes. She kicks his butt some more. He escapes etc etc. And just when you think he's done for he finds *more willpower* and beats her and find out that Major Force is out to kill him. The fight seemed very... stupid to me. She should have killed him 10 times over but his hero-factor was working overtime. It just seemed unbelievable even for a comic book.
JLA #100 - This is funny. What ever happened to GOOD JLA stories? Anyways, Mother Earth is pissed at mankind and plans to spank them hard. The Elite find out and join up with the JLA in a plan to get the world to unite. The Elite will try to take over the world and when the JLA shows up the Elite will beat them that way all of the world will come to face thier most dire enemies. It works. Mother Earth is pleased that mankid can work together and goes back to whatever the Earth's spirt does. So... lame...
Superman Secret Files 2004 - Blah blah character info etc etc Supergirl on the last page!
Concerning JLA #100: For this they cut John Byrne's story an issue short? Tenth Circle was going along fine until the last part where you can literally tell what page the story was snipped and pushed together on.
If DC hates The Authority, why bother with this Elite carp?
This is like a flashback to when all the leagers quit, and were replaced by a bunch of kids led by Aquaman.
We all remember how well that went down.
I could have sworn Major Force died by the end of the Captain Atom series (guess it's tie to reread it). Did he agically get better, or was a new guy put through the experiment?
I keep hearing nothing but good about Batgirl, and have liked her in BOP appearances and a Ghost crossover I have. I am surprised she's not a BOP regular cast member.
So is Batgirl worth collecting? If so is it all in TP's or is it to the back issue bins?
Batgirl is my favorite now. I think there is maybe three trade paperbacks. I have two of those and they are both real good. I just started collecting the regular series. Not big on the new Robin so hopefully she won't be in it much. Bat girl is a great character. T hink she could even beat Batman.

So has Batgirl gotten better then? Batgirl was an excellent comic, easily one of my favorites, until a little after issue 25 (the climactic battle between her and Lady Shiva). Then it went downhill majorly. It started turning into a shoujo (marketed to girls) style comic, where every issue seemed to focus more on her concerns with dating and guys she thought were cute. Personally, it stopped being an interesting read and became more of a soap opera.
So if it's gotten better, I might start reading it again. I love the character and issues 1-25 will always be among my favorite reads, but I just don't like the direction they started taking the comic.
Not certain. I just started reading it, and comics in general again. I did read the first couple of collected issues. I wouldn't mind her doing the teenage girl stuff. She can't always be a fighting machine. I think that actually just helps develop her more, especially when you look at how she was raised. What I didn't like was how she started talking. That was almost as bad as how Batman was able to walk again after Knightfall.
JLA: It might not be nice to fool Mother Nature, but it sure is easy to do. Now I see Chuck Austin is moving in. Well past time to update my sub box on this title. Stuck it through the recent drek just so I could get to issue #100. Yeah, I'm a sucker for annaversary issues. More the fool me.
Green Lantern: Yeah, Fatality had Kyle dead to rights, but the "cat and mouse" bit she played was perfectly in character. I don't mind so much that Kyle pulled through. Tough time to be a GL with a girlfriend. John may need to head to the 30th century to find a girlfriend with a different skin colour. I wonder if Starfire is interested in a blind date?
OMG, they're setting up Kyle and John to get together! A gay, interacial superhero team. With the race card they can one-up the Authority.
Note: this was a joke. A joke almost as bad as JLA #100. For the record, JLA #100 is much worse than then the Detroit League. We got Vixen and Gypsy out of the Detroit era. Steel and Vibe were no good, so they had the good grace to kill them off. The Elite . . . feh. I would have liked it better if they had the League soundly defeat the Autho . . . I mean the Elite and left it alone. But no, we have to let them play this whole JLA vs. Elite thing out for a few months before it can all be forgotten.
I wish there was some way we could tell them that we get it: the JLA's brand of heroism is much better than the Authority's heavy-handed, villainous, tyranical style of "saving" the world. But no, we will have to deal with a few months of "maybe they're right after all" before the JLA proves what real heroism is. Bah.
