What did you guys think of the Scenario? I now think that the points have to be tweaked a bit but how about the rest?
Personally I liked the Smurf move system. It was painful for me to edit everything but it did allow me to play instead of running all the Smurfs. It will be interesting to contrast this game with Richards where he will run the zombies.
My favorite moment was when Plasticman made a face on the bank window for Flash. The image was just priceless. The most impressive actions in my book were Logan taking everything Papa Smurf, (and others if I rememeber right) could dish out and still chop up the vermin in the red hat. Also watching Flash take out Saturn Girl with Hypersonic attack. I just wish I had had more time to write descriptions. Hopefully I will in Richard's game.
Thanks to everyone for playing! Keep an eye out for my next one after Richard's game is done.

I liked the scenario alot. For the points, it's interesting to have two drastically different point scales. Wakandaman and I were fortunate, I believe, that not one of his Civilans were taken out wile under his control(despite me trying to convince ALC that Black Adam could solve that problem in one turn...... ) and my taking the book off the map.
I didn't mind the smurf turns at all.....with the exception of Papa Smurf. When it started out he was going to be a real challenge to deal with......but when we used the good/evil sharing system and he was dormant for that long he really had a target on his back(front and side too...). It was a fair system for both sides. I just thought it took away from his fear factor. And for the record I have no idea at all how to fix that other than have a 9th player take the side of the smurfs so that the hosting player can play a side of his chosing.
I'd forgotten about Plasticman making the face......that was a really funny image. I also got a kick out of the explanations for game effects, both reading them and writing them. Like Clixhunters explanation for PC or the story explanations for map confusion. I liked mine about Spiderman mimeing to pick up the car that wasn't there any more.

I made a promise to Matt Murdock to wear his mask....I've fought this war in his place.....And I'll continue to do so.
But I haven't forgotten who I am...and soon it will be time to carry my own burdens again.
Generally it was very good. One thing I felt unbalanced things was the huge advantage given the characters with damage reducers. Since none of my characters had even toughness, all were susceptable to Smurf attacks (even Flash with his enormous DV took a nasty hit), while anyone with Toughness or better had free run of the map.
I would say that Smurf swarm attacks should be allowed against characters as well. They should all need to roll independantly though, and all make that attack in the same turn (therefore using up all of one's Smurf actions), but it would have made things a lot fairer in that regard.
Clearly the book needed to be less points. The only reason I was able to make it up, in my view, is that I was the only good guy at the top end of the map. If there had been someone else up there competing for those few civilians, it would have been it. So I guess I owe a big thanks to Doom's Medic for stealing my initial starting position way back in the beginning.
Oh and I agree with DM about the Papa Smurf thing. He should have been left a lot scarier, which would have made getting the book a lot harder.
But yeah, I mostly enjoyed the Smurf move system. It's good that you got to play too Andy. The only change I'd suggest there is removing/reducing the restriction of having Smurf's close to allies. It made me and I think many others, a lot more hesitant to form alliances sooner. I would have had one with Clixhunter much sooner, but I needed to move those Smurfs down there to stop DM (since no one else seemed worried about it )
Anyway, thanks heaps for hosting Andy. Since I got the victory, I'll write a final story post soon to wrap everything up.

my thoughts...i loved the idea. because of work requirements i was unable to really keep track of everyones moves like is was in the other games.....and was limited to trying to figure out what smurfs had moved on a shrunken down version of the map. only the updated maps from glorfindel could i zoom in and look at things clearly. this made my turns very difficult and most of my smurf moves illegal.
i didnt like the point system for ko'ing civilians. it destroyed any chance i had of winning and forced me into a behind the scenes alliance with doomsmedic to keep me from having a huge deficit to try and recover from....
my positioning between the two villains who allied with each other really hurt....
so
the good: very intersting scenario. fun players and fun posts
the bad: the too varied point system. and my tech difficulties
the ugly: evil evil doomsmedic...lol ...kidding.

The only problem I had with the scenario was trying to remember which smurfs had been used and which had not. I do not take away any credit from ALC for updating 2 maps with 6 teams and 100 smurfs! What a chore! It was like we were all fighting up a mountain.
I loved the scenario. Great idea. It made me think I could run the scenario I am going to start tomorrow. I think what rule everyone wanted is from Mage Knight. It's called "Ganging Up." It works like this:
1 smurf is attacking Flash and has an awful time trying to hit him. 2 more smurfs show up and now the attacking smurf can either add plus two to hit or plus two damage. Flash gets easier to hit and medics get easier to kill out right. Great rule and it still follows the Rule of Three except, you can add 3 to the attack and 3 to the damage if you could totally surround the Flash (or whoever - I preferred Green Arrow as my target ).
I had a great time and was able to get First Fed angry at me in two games in a row! I really don't mean it and ewen enjoy playing these games with him. I just make him angry at me without even trying! :knockedou
Thanks to Doom's Medic for the quick alliance. I like a man who supports the underdog. He was a GREAT ally.
To heck with all of you who killed off me lackey and my medic!
And Wakandaman is right, Kraven is not that tough. The smurfs should have eaten him alive! Toughness was worth triple the points they cost per figure. Deathstroke would have kicked blue tail with Toughness instead of Willpower.
Thanks lastly to Clixhunter. The behind-the-scenes alliance helped. When your remaining heroes were run by Wakandaman and were against us, it just did not seem right. I was trying to kill the JLA faster, just to punish them for brainwashing you!
Thanks again ALC, I hope I can repay you in my game.
Flash gulped as the Titans appeared out of nowhere, glaring at him angrily for taking out their ally in the Legion.
"Oh not you guys too." he cringed. Then a powerful voice boomed from above.
"TITANS. Stand down."
Flash breathed in relief as he looked to the sky. The Titans blinked when they saw who it was and looked around nervously.
Green Lantern.
Wonder Woman.
The Martian Manhunter.
Superman.
"It's about time you guys got back," Flash smirked.
Green Lantern floated down next to Flash and smiled. "Sorry, we just had to avert a small interglactic war first. Got here soon as we could."
Aquaman emerged from the river, looking fairly haggard. "We still have the Smurf infestation to take care of. I've just been told by my aquatic allies that there are still some in the underground sewer."
"Already taken care of," said a voice in the shadows. Batman emerged carrying a large specimen jar. Inside it was one of the blue Smurfs, wearing thick black-rimmed glasses. His tinny voice came through as he banged on the thick glass. "Let me out of here! You can't do this to me, you are the virus not us...." Batman gave the creature his patented glare, shutting it up fairly quickly.
Wonder Woman tended to Green Arrow, gingerly mending his wounds. Green Arrow opened his eyes a crack, saw Wonder Woman, and then closed them again. If she knew he was awake, he thought to himself, she might stop touching him.
Green Lantern created a giant shovel to pick up what was left of Plastic Man. "C'mon Plas, pull yourself together man."
Plastic Man's head yelled at him from a nearby rooftop. "Hey Greenie, you missed a bit!"
"Ewwww!" Green Lantern made a vomiting action.
Superman looked down at a clump of grass nearby. "Ray...you've got some explaining to do."
"Ulp!"
"But first, lets deal with the rest of this riff-raff."

Oh, and guys, you can come check out my latest project, the Herolympics, right here. I won't be up for any more PBP games until it's over and done with, but I hope to see you all there.
