Just wondering - can the Sentinal pick up a freindly figure from the edge of a rooftop and carry them? Sentinal is on the ground, but his friendly teammate is on the edge of a rooftop.
Sorry if this is a dumb question that I should know, but I could really use the help! Pleeeeeaase! You can even insult me/my intelligence, if you like...
Sentinels are flyers so they can carry friendly figures, and...

From the Sentinel Rules May be attacked by grounded, elevated, or soaring characters using Close or Ranged Combat attacks, and is adjacent to characters in adjacent squares regardless of elevation.
So if they are considered adjacent for combat, they must be considered adjancet for ALL situations.
Code:
S S|F
S S|.
So in this case, F is a friendly figure that is elevated. Even though the Sentinel is on the ground, he can pick up F.
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.
Exactly, FJ . . . a Sentinel is adjacent to characters in all adjacent squares regardless of elevation. I used that rule to capture a few unsuspecting snipers from the roof edge in a bizarro tourney a while back . . .

Man what are you smoking? The Sentinel can too carry teammates. From the Sentinel rules:
"The big figure sentinel moves per the standard flying rules"
"For purposes of breaking away and close combat, consider a hovering character to be at the level of elevation its base is on"
WHICH means he CAN carry someone. The sentinel is a flyer which means he is not adjacent to someone on a roof for close combat, he isn't adjacent period.

Wait, where in the rules? I'm looking at the sentinel rules righ now and cant seem to find it.

From the Sentinel Rules: General Rules
The big figure Sentinel (and other HeroClix figures that are mounted on three-inch bases) is called a big figure. The following rules apply to the big figure Sentinel:
1. Is not affected by Force Blast, Incapacitate, Mind Control, Plasticity, Poison, Psychic Blast, Shape Change, Steal Energy, Support, and any team ability that reproduces those powers.
2. Cannot be moved by Telekinesis, although it can be the target of a Telekinesis attack.
3. Is not affected by knockback.
4. Does not need to roll for break away, although characters adjacent to a big figure roll for break away per the standard rules.
5. Is the archenemy of any figure that is a member of the Morlocks, X-Men, and Brotherhood of Mutants teams, and members of the Morlocks, X-Men, and Brotherhood of Mutants teams are archenemies of any big figure Sentinel. 6. May be attacked by grounded, elevated, or soaring characters using Close or Ranged Combat attacks, and is adjacent to characters in adjacent squares regardless of elevation.
7. Cannot be carried.
8. Cannot be captured.
