ENGULFING BOSS: Plasticity. Mud Man starts the game with 2 Life Tokens, and gains a Life Token each time he KO's an opposing character. When Mud Man would be KO'd, if he has any Life Tokens, instead remove one. Protected: Pulse Wave.

3. Determining Victory Points: Victory points are scored as follows:
- While you are the active player, score 1 point for every click of damage taken by a character that began the game on an opponent's force or sideline.
- While you are the active player, score 1 point for every object or additional game
element with a point value greater than 0 removed from the game that began the game
on an opponent's force or sideline.
- While you are not the active player, score 1 point for every object or additional game
element with a point value greater than 0 removed from the game that began on the
active player's force or sideline.
Considering skirmish format's rules does damaging and thus taking a token off of Mud Man awards a victory point even of Mud Man doesn't clicks damage?
I know skirmish is still an unexplored land but let me know how you would rule it
I agree with you. Anyway regular bystanders award 1 VP when leaving the Battlefield. The point is: even taking damage Mud Man wouldn't award any VP if not after AT LEAST two successful attacks. It means that i will never attack Mud Man but it will attack me every turn for sure gaining points eventually
The other day I tried 10 Mud Men (via proxying) in a 200 point Skirmish game to see if it would break the format as I was thinking that the only time he takes damage, and therefore rewards a VP, is when he is finally KO'd. When I came up with the idea I didn't pay close attention to his trait, as I hadn't used him in a while, and thought that the Life Tokens prevented damage instead of preventing KO. Though I noticed the correct wording just before the game and played it as each Life Token removed earns the opponent 1 VP because he takes 1 damage, gets KO'd, and then the removal of the token brings him back.
Having said all that, and taking a closer look at the bystander rules now, I don't think that bystanders would ever reward VPs.
From the bystander rules: "A bystander is a character that has combat values, but does not have a combat dial and does not "click"."
From the Skirmish rules: "While you are the active player, score 1 point for every click of damage taken by a character that began the game on an opponent's force or sideline."
And, for completeness, from the rules for clicking the dial: "Turning the dial in either direction (usually due to damage or healing) is called "clicking" the dial."
By a strict reading of the wording, a bystander never takes clicks of damage so it would never generate a victory point that way. It's also not an additional game element, so it would never generate victory points the other way either.
Odds are, Bystanders should just be banned in Skirmish, period. As doc-monocle pointed out, under the Skirmish rules, they never award any points.
The format is essentially in beta testing. The best thing to do for the time being is make WK's aware of the issues, and to not allow these things if you're running a local event.
