there are a lot of characters from UXM, cwsop, NFAOS and WF that will fit this criteria so I think there will be someone who will think of a really fun way to play doc. + he really can hold his own with this set of stats.
The doctor is in! A great remake that allows you to switch from support to combat with very little effort. A much more desirable choice for friendly MC than Black Talon, even if the target is limited to 70 points.
A really fantastic piece. I pulled two during my draft and one of them ended up as the MVP for my game, using Mind Control to score me two (!) Hercules pieces, who I also had the bounty card for. His MC is really really useful in the context of the set, and he'll be a great piece even after it's over, for 70 points. My only real criticism is, as stated below, he gets X-Factor for being their therapist, but not Thunderbolts, despite serving as theirs for a time as well. Oh well.
When I pulled Doc here in my sealed, judging from this top click, I thought he was a real dud (sour memories of IH Doc Samson haha). And then when my opponent(s) hit him a few times, he started cleaning house and bludgeoning foes to unconsciousness (side step + super strength + close combat expert). what a turnaround for the Doc!
Do you like DC comics from the 1980s? So do I. Check out: www.dcinthe80s.com.
Played Doc the other day with Speedfreak (70 pts of EVIL!). Work EXTREMLY well together as Speedfreak has Invincible and ignores the 1pt. of penetrating damage from the Psychoanalyzation. You must try it for yourself! Plus I love Sidestep CCE (or RCE for that matter) as a power combo!
It's good to at last get a new Samson. I would have preferred a stronger brawler and more accurate take on the character (he's a shrink, sure, but Mind Control ??).

We want Nefaria's Ani-Men !!
@Orpheus... Indeed Invincible doesn't reduce 1 damage to 0, it ignores half of 1 damage rounded up; half of 1 rounded up = 1. So 1 damage is ignored... which means Speedfreek takes 0 damage from Psychoanalyzation...
Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn... don't worry guys... that's just the way I sneeze...
WIN/LOSS: 1-3 Doc Samson is what happens when you don't do research and base design on old (IH) models. He isn't bad - and his cost helps a lot, but a 9 attack value is so outdated he is often just incapping himself if he tries to use that power. Usually it is best to get him into the fight, providing Empower and hoping he gets hit to his fighting clicks. Original cards will prevent peekers from just manipulating his design flaws. I swapped the sculpt for the IH beefier version - but I do hope for another version eventually.
Visible Dials and Pushing Damage need to be optional. This is the way.
