17 toughness is pretty weak, if left to that alone he will die quickly. You will likely need to spend your first couple hits stealing defensive powers. This is one of those low pt characters you have to deal with quickly. If left unchecked he can get up to some insane levels with tons of powers. I am annoyed he's ANOTHER prime for SSoSV. There are too many already. Parasite or Black Adam, tough call.
Arghh! Too bad that there couldn't have been two Parasites in this slot: Animated / Rudy Jones (a) and a Joshua Allen or Kingdom Come Prime (b). Finesse required, but easily the best Parasite designed thus far.
Two thoughts on Parasite:
1. I really wish he had Injustice League keyword. Even if he wasn’t technically a member in the show, the IL need all the help they can get in this set.
2. That being said, he’s super useful against Rare Superman. Have Parasite steal an outwit and you can much more easily take Supes down a peg, since Superman Enemy is few and far between in this set.
Parasite could also use outwit via the Superman enemy team ability.
I want to use him with the octopus arms. He gets giant reach and also gets flurry making it way easier to get to click #1. His shape change also helps him survive despite his meager defense value.
I don't get the last part of "I can do anything you can do". Why would he choose a power not to use? Thank you.
It's a penalty for taking damage from an attack. He loses one of his noted powers until he notes it again. But at least he gets to choose which one he loses.
Nerfed significantly by 2021 comp rules. 18.6 When an effect refers to a “standard power printed on [Character]’s card” that power must be its own standard power (with "gem") and not a standard power granted by a special power, trait or team ability. This standard power can be one that is printed anywhere on that character's card (i.e. the standard power does not have to be currently showing in the dial window).
Right, choosing power on the card is what got nerfed in the new rulebook. You can only take a standard power that exists by itself. You can no longer take one that's part of a trait or special power. So if you are fighting something like common amazo, you can't copy anything.
